Southern Florida Getaway

The Port of the Islands area was a wonderful getaway location. The accommodations were perfect. The room and resort space were clean, quiet, and enjoyable. This is a great location to use as a home base while exploring the many nearby sites.

Good central location

It’s a boating resort. The room was adequate but we just couldn’t get the tv programming going. Nice pool area.

Manatees

Overall, our stay was nice. We were there for the wildlife and weren’t disappointed. There were alligators everywhere and manatees around the marina. The biggest issue was that it was unseasonably cold. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect for what we needed.

Property was fine for what we needed. I would suggest a trash can for the kitchenette. Also my teen daughter would have appreciated a full length mirror perhaps attached to the inside of the wardrobe. Also a couple of chairs on the lanai would have given some additional seating. Could only get the TV to work one night, not sure why, but wasn’t that big of a deal. Would stay again!

Hotel room like, cramped, no tv

This looks great with the pictures on Vrbo, however in reality the Gainesville quality inn seemed larger. The pictures show a dining area with 2 chairs, bedroom with 2 queen beds, and kitchen. All true and combined in a smaller room than the hotel room. There is also what could have been nice ,a screened porch outside the room, except no furniture. To enjoy the area, the kitchen chairs had to be dragged out. I read in a review before we went about the tv not working but wasn’t worried as the owner said it was fixed. It wasn’t. It relied on internet and the complex internet wasn’t strong enough. Owner also said only Netflix was Available if the internet worked. He sent someone to work on the tv an told me to use the hotspot on my phone. There really isn’t much nightlife at the resort. He told me he would refund $80. The resort is quiet but in an isolated area. 30 minute drive to Marco island, 35 minute drive to Naples. There is a bar and restaurant at the resort, 3 or 4 nights a week a 70’ish guy sings a variety of music. We listened one night. The pool was nice.

Would come back

The property fit the description well. It was clean and perfect for our 2 night stay. We had an issue with the TV and could not get it working. We were told there was no manager on-site so it couldn't be fixed. There were also no bed pillows with pillow cases, only decorative pillows. If those two issues could be resolved next time we would definitely go back.

The area was perfect. We were close to lots of other activities. Also enjoyed just hanging out one day at the property and enjoying the pool.
