If you’re looking for a resort with a breathtaking beach, calm waters and 3.5-4 star accommodations - then book your stay at Azul. I gave this a 4 star review bc there’s still post-hurricane maintenance issues they’re working out. We read a LOT of reviews before arriving. They had me very concerned about the food options. But after our stay, I can tell you that the food was not an issue for us or our children. In fact, we enjoyed all of the food! Timing is everything though…don’t wait to eat until the restaurant is about to close. Room service options aren’t great, but we enjoyed all the open restaurants. We called Karisma resort’s main line before arriving and they assured us that all the restaurants are open. But one restaurant at the front of the hotel called Palms was never opened during our stay. However, not all restaurants are open at the same time each day. This is standard for every all-inclusive resort we’ve been to over the past 20 yrs of traveling. They usually rotate restaurants depending on hotel occupancy. For the pricing of this all-inclusive resort, it sits between 2 of the most expensive resorts (Sandals & Beaches) yet a fraction of the price. Azul’s beach is definitely 5-star, the hotel/accommodations is 3.5 star and the food was 4-star (in our opinion).

Overall, the staff were generally kind and polite. Areas that could be improved include the app not accurately reflecting which restaurants were actually open, difficulty finding towels for the pool and beach and the towels not always being very clean, and the fact that many bars and restaurants were not operating.

On 12/02/2025 we received email from Expedia with Azul check-in invitation. We called to resort to make sure its open after hurricane. Azul customer services representative assure us that resort fully open and fully functional from 12/01/25. Based on that confirmation we went to resort by schedule. Resort stuff have been exceptionally friendly and helpful, but we got several issues during the stay 1. On first two nights there were only two restaurants out of promised 6 open for diner. For the rest of the nights only one restaurant (mostly Italian) was open for diner. On our last night Saturday only one restaurant (Italian again) was open – we were waiting in line to be seated for more than an hour, gave up to wait and left. Later at night buffet was opened. 2. For lunch only one the same buffet out of promised two was open for hall week. 3. Few times during the week the resort have been out of electricity for some time. 4. On first and last days we have a problem to use our bathroom because toilet flushing was not working. We called maintenance and it was fixed. 5. On last evening Saturday we have no water in bathrooms and no electricity in half of resort for several hours until late night. Given the circumstances, we believe this trip did not deliver what was advertised or paid for, and we are requesting reimbursement or compensation for the substantial loss of value and enjoyment. The management of this resort is horrible. 1. Check in service was really poor. They kept messing up the rooms that were booked. 2. Parking space was limited and inconveniently located away from the hotel property, across the road. 3. Beach security wasn’t great as well. Outsiders can literally come up to you while on the beach. I hope they haven’t harassed anyone yet. 4. The cleanliness of the rooms was substandard. 5. Food quality was great. An 8/10 in quality. 6. Limited dining was also a problem with an inefficient reservation system.

I made a mistake on my reservation. It was supposed Tubi for one full week in February. However, somehow the Expedia app made it for one night December 19. I contacted Expedia. They contacted the resort and the manager was supposed to help me take care of this. The manager has not called the manager has not helped me. I want my money back or I want to be able to change the reservation and use the money that I already spent to fix this. The rating will not be changed until then. Don’t stay at this resort if you feel like you need to change a reservation because their management is not responsive. Experian has tried to contact the resort but they will not respond! Do not book here!

We had a wonderful experience. This trip was post hurricane so we did not know what to expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised the property was in great condition, the staff was very friendly, including the music director and our bell Hopper Dean. The beach was clean. There was plenty of beach furniture. The palm trees were green. I would definitely go back.

First off, I will start by saying the Bartenders, Buffet staff and Entertainment 10/10! I cannot say enough about how amazing they are. DJ Lando and Alicia made this trip for us. With that said there is a lot that could have been done better, mainly due with the “Sales Staff” Would we go back? Probably not the anxiety of the whole sales situation it to annoying. It felt like we were at our regular day jobs, scheduling meetings, going over number. Not at a resort for our honeymoon.

The room and resort were really great. However the food options and a couple rude staff members made me leave a 3 star review. Otherwise it was a decent stay. I’d recommend with caution though.

The Grounds at AZUL were well kept and i loved the direct beach access with the cabanas and lounge chairs as options. The staff were hit or miss, either they were pleasent or rude and unaccommodating, mostly at the bars, The dining options were extremely limited and honestly didn’t taste good. I had better experiences with local vendors on the road. My room door lock battery died and that was quite frustrating and inconveniencing because of course it died when i needed to check out to catch my flight. Upon checking out and despite being in a rush the push to complete a survey was disturbing. I understand Jamaica is a “take it easy” kind of country-I’ve visited several times, i think it would be helpful for the staff at AZUL to perhaps have a refresher training course on customer service and hospitality.

Well I would’ve given a 5 star, however ; they were very very short staffed, and I had to call every day to have my room maintained with clean towels and linen and still did not get them.

The food is terrible, there is nothing gourmet about this property. We were so excited to stay here, as it had listed hat making classes, cooking classes, and gourmet food. None of this is true. We were also going to get married on the property. We are so happy we didn’t do this place as a destination wedding. No classes, nothing really to do on the property, it was boring. The things that were good on the property were, the room size. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, and it was big. Our phone didn’t work. We didn’t have running water periodically throughout our stay. The staff call you at 8:30am to “check” on you, so you can’t sleep in. The restaurants close at weird times, so it felt hard to eat anywhere. We stayed at 2 other resorts on our trip, same food. Again, nothing is gourmet about Azul. The room service menu is small, and it always comes with plastic wrap over it. This resort also claims to have an amazing eco friendly program, yet coming back to the plastic wrap…over everything, I don’t get it. There was garbage on the beach, wasn’t clean. There were dirty towels in our room when we arrived. The staff are constantly harassing you when you come out of the room to buy a vacation package. Save yourself the stress, hassle and lack of food issues. We were hungry at an all inclusive cause we simply didn’t want to eat the food.

The resort was very disappointing. They cannot call themselves all inclusive when they keep running out of food and drink options. Check in was a disaster. The couple got upgraded to the different room and we ended up paying $500 just to be in the same area with them. We requested to meet with management but never provided the opportunity to express our grievances. We had only two ne bath towel the first day and lacked hand and face towels for days. Tried to order room service but that option was shut off as well. The location and the beach is great and the staff is fantastic. They need to clean house and hire new management that is more responsive to guest services and able to keep a full bar and food selections at all time!! I would not pay the high all inclusive fee here!!!
