Perfect summer getaway!

We had an absolute blast at this home for the 4th of July! Most importantly, the house is clean and has great space both indoor and outdoor. Our large group was well entertained whether indoors watching a movie, outside watching the cabana TV or enjoying the sun in the pool, hot tub or the lake. The lake is a short walk down the path and not a beach so to speak, but the sunsets were a nightly ritual and so beautiful. The golf carts were very fun even if golf wasn’t being played-simply driving around Grabd Beach saying hello to the other people was lovely. And, the deer are a sight!!! I’d recommend this home-book quickly bc it’s a gem!!

Alternative to Outer Banks

For us, we were looking for a vacation alternative to Outer Banks and were able to cut our drive time in half. With young kids, that is huge. The 9 hole golf course in the plan was respectable and super convenient to get a quick round in and not spend half a day away from the family. The beach access in the plan was nice enough, but you wouldn't confuse it for the Outer Banks. It wasn't crowded when we were there, but I suspect that on hotter days it could get a bit crowded. Kitchen and most of the bathrooms were updated. Nice grill. Pool and hot tub were satisfactory. Seemed like a nice, quiet plan of homes.

Disappointing

The location was very nice. There were some very nice aspects of the home. However, there were many aspects that were extremely disappointing. The area around the pool and part of the pool itself needed to be refreshed or updated. It was chipped, cracking, and dirty and moldy. The hot tub was dirty and broke twice during our one week stay. The dryer broke so we were unable to wash clothes because they couldn’t be dried. They couldn’t be dried outside either because of the cloudy day. . Some of the dishes in the cabinets were dusty and full of crumbs.. This was the most expensive property I have stayed at and also the most disappointing. I would not recommend staying here.

Not as expected

Not able to get into the house until 30 mins after check-in time due to the cleaning staff. When we did walk in, the house had a bad odor, like wet dog, or a dirty wet mop. Our children were so excited to use the swimming pool/hot tub, but when we arrived, both were unusable and the outside sitting area was a complete mess. The pool was filled with debris and a greenish color. There was mold/scum all over the steps/entrance into the pool that we had to scrub ourselves. The hot tub smelled like someone had vomited in it prior to our arrival. Both pumps on the pool/hot tub had to be replaced during our stay. The dryer was broken when we arrived to the house, the cleaning staff let us know this as we were unpacking our cars, stating that the owners knew of the problem. Someone came and checked out the dryer during our stay but never came back to fix it, so we had no dryer the whole week. When then the roof starting leaking into our luggage, we had no dryer. This home is advertised with 2 golf carts, upon arrival and for the next 3 days into the stay, there was only 1 golf cart. When they did drop off another, it was a very old 2 seater. So we had 6 seats for a house that sleeps 12-14. This house is also advertised as pet friendly, which is fine. However, the amount of animal hair was gross. It was filling the corners of the house like tumble weeds, in between all couch cushions and stuck on all carpets/bedding & windowsills. Broken/unusable sleeper sofa & tv.
