Just a 3-minute walk from Stop 38 beach, The Ponchartrain is a 5-bedroom, 4.5-bath home with 4,400 sq ft of refined living space. An eclectic mix of art and antiques makes this quintessential Michigan retreat visually inspiring and welcoming. Thoughtfully designed for year-round stay, it features a vaulted great room with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, SubZero and Viking appliances, two laundry areas, a private gym, and a screened porch with a fireplace and serene wooded views.
THE SPACE
The main level opens into a soaring, sunlit great room centered around a dramatic stone fireplace and layered with plush seating and curated art. French doors lead to the screened porch, while the adjacent dining area flows seamlessly into a chef’s kitchen outfitted with SubZero refrigeration, a Viking range, two dishwashers, a wine fridge, and a generous walk-in pantry, perfect for entertaining in every season.
Head upstairs to find a private office that doubles as a charming children’s playroom, offering a quiet space for focused work or imaginative fun.
Each of the five bedrooms at The Ponchartrain offers its own unique personality, ranging from crisp and contemporary to cozy and whimsical while maintaining a calm, restful vibe throughout. With plush bedding, ample natural light, and charming design details like a hanging swing chair, vintage-style iron beds, playful wall art, and cozy reading nooks, every room is a serene escape.

Gravel paths lead to a charming white-paneled potting shed, a sweet dedicated space for gardening and seasonal projects, set just beyond the trees.
Located in the Village of Michiana, The Ponchartrain sits just minutes from downtown New Buffalo and within easy reach of Union Pier, Sawyer, and Three Oaks. Spend your days exploring the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail, browsing farmers markets and art galleries, or dining at favorites like Brewster’s, Timothy’s, and The Stray Dog. Hike the dunes, bike the shoreline roads, or head to the beach for a sunset swim. From summer escapes to cozy winter weekends, this home is well-suited to every season.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
To ensure a safe and compliant stay, all guests are required to complete identity verification prior to check-in. A valid government-issued photo ID will be collected and verified, and the name on the ID must match the credit card used for payment. When applicable, a background screening may also be required as part of the booking process.
All guests are required to review and sign Juniper Holiday + Home's Guest Occupancy Agreement prior to check-in. While we understand that events can affect your trip, it is our policy to stick to the agreed-upon cancellation policy in the listing. We recommend purchasing vacation travel insurance if you suspect you may need to cancel your reservation.

Pets are not allowed at this home.
A non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver is included with your reservation. This waiver covers accidental damage or loss to the rental property caused by you or members of your party up to a maximum of $2,000. This plan does not cover intentional acts, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.
Out of respect for our staff and their families, we do not permit check-ins or outs on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. Thank you for your understanding.
