We were surprised to discover that we were the only guests at the hotel on Christmas eve. After an employee let us in and showed us to our room, they were nowhere to be seen after. During our entire stay, our car was the only car in the parking lot, no guests or employees were onsite, and the front door was left unlocked and unable to be closed. The situation felt so unsafe that we decided to leave early and stay elsewhere once we found a place. The employee I was communicating with by text assured me that there were other guests onsite, yet that doesn't explain why we never heard nor saw anyone else, the coffee table on the 2nd floor went untouched, and there were no cars in the parking lot during our entire stay. I realize that Newtown, PA isn't exactly a crime hub, but in 2025 incidents can and do happen anywhere and I'm not about to expose my family to becoming potential targets due to staying in an establishment that provides easy access to anyone who wishes to walk through the front door. This hotel is as poorly run as the restaurant that recently closed on their property. Would not recommend.

The quality of this property dropped off terribly over the last two years. Since I last visited. It has all the quality of a cheap budget motel. The central heating was turned off and small electric space heaters were put into the rooms the bathroom is 1970s vintage.There are no amenities and apparently in a dispute with the hotels owner, the fabulous brick restaurant was suddenly closed the day before I arrived so now meals. This place needs new ownership and a complete revitalization.

The room was very cozy and all was good except the shower was extremely disappointing. the faucet did not hold the temperature and it would go from tepid to very cold to scolding hot, making showering a difficult situation. I also noticed that the fire alarm was removed from the ceiling and only the back plate remained. Other than those issues, we really enjoyed our stay and loved the downstairs restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Brick hotel. While the rooms weren’t as recently updated as other places, we really enjoyed the historical building and the charming decor. Everything was clean and comfortable and we had a great time!

The hotel is more of a small lopsided inn, it was charming in its own way but our light switch didn’t always work, someone had to come and fix our TV, the hot water suddenly turned cold, etc. if you don’t mind a little old building historical character, it’s fine, but we would have appreciated if there was someone there to give us the keys, if the windows opened properly, more of the expectations of an actual hotel.

A little odd. We never saw anyone affiliated with the hotel and only saw one other guest. Our key was left on a little table. The room was spacious, clean, and fine. The floors and stairs are very wonky because it is a very old house, but that was charming. What was not charming was the mattress which might also date back to the Revolutionary War.

There was a shortage of half & half and lemon ginger tea this stay, we had plenty the last time. This room was noisier then the other room we had last time and did not have blackout shades so we had light shining in our eyes.

The 2nd floor manager was very pleasant, room was safe and quiet bc of the thick walls, bar downstairs was nice, easy to park, free coffee and water, in center of town. Would stay here again!

It is a cool hotel built in 1765, no bells and whistles, window AC, for a few days is fine, Roccos restaurant downstairs had the best tomahawk steak I ever had, great if you like walking around and seeing old homes from the 1700's to early 1800's

Staying in a historical hotel was awsome, the stairs, wallpaper in hallway and old elegance of it was really nice. It was clean and nice. No frills. Don't expect luxury amenities as it's not expected but nice bedding, clean room and comfortable. Remember, you're staying in a part of history. That was cool. Also, try restaurant on bottom floor, it was excellent food.

Rocco’s was closed for renovations. That could have been posted on the website. Bed was comfortable. Could use TCL- wall patched, caulked in the bathroom, peeling wall paper. Will not stay again.

A lot of room for improvement!

Brick Hotel is conveniently located in the center of Newtown, close to shopping and restaurants. There is a quality restaurant downstairs. Main issue is that the hotel room we were given is dated, a little rundown, one window AC unit cooling the room but not the bathroom. Bathroom is tight with nowhere convenient to place your toiletries. Bathtub/shower would probably be tight/claustrophobic for a big person. Bed and pillows are not terribly comfortable.
