This is a quaint room in like a summer camp cabin. You can’t control your own heating and air conditioning - take note. The rooms were very clean and basic. I would stay again as the grounds are incredible and we had an awesome time outdoors.

The complex was exactly that - complex. Initially, we drove to the Overlook Lodge to check in for our cabin only to find we needed to drive back down the mountain to the Inn (where ironically we had just been to turn around after missing the turn for Overlook Lodge!). The cabin was clean and quiet. The walk to and from the cabin to the Inn for dinner/morning coffee was lovely (along the lake).

Nice room, location was good. Clean, well kept, modern. Priced appropriately. Suggestion- when booking room should make clear that check in is at the Main Lodge, NOT overlook. Main Lodge is about a mile away.

We mostly enjoyed our stay at Bear Mountain. Respectfully, The Overlook Lodge is closer to a roadside motel than a Lodge. There’s no staff on site or elevators, so fair warning if you have a lot of stuff with you and staying on the 2nd floor. This is probably a little nitpicky, but the lighting is so cold and it feels like a hospital in all of the common areas and the rooms. It would help a lot to consider replacing light bulbs with a warmer color temperature (like 2700k). Otherwise, the location is very pretty, and there are lots of great hikes nearby and sights in easy driving distance.

This place was amazing. Beautiful area and although check in can be a bit confusing it was well worth it. I rented two rooms, both were very clean and comfortable. The staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also outstanding. This was one of our favorite places as we traveled though 10 different states for a fall foliage trip in the fall. There really wasn't a great view from our room at the lodge to see the Hudson River however the area is beautiful and we would definitely stay here again. Great place for kids, couples or singles if you just want some peace and quiet and enjoy the outdoors.

This location and its history made this Inn a great stopover night for us as we travelled down the East Coast. The scenery is beautiful and the staff are helpful and friendly. This would would be a great place to meet with family members and/or friends to enjoy sharing a cottage (with 6 rooms and a common area) to enjoy a few nights or week together. There is a lot to do in the area and the porch of the cottage lends itself to just sitting and admiring the natural surroundings, especially the lake!
