Perfect for our family of 4

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Originally booked for 2, but added on a 3rd because we werent ready to leave. If you enjoy fishing or just looking at the water, its the perfect spot. It felt quiet and secluded. Will definitely stay again if we make a trip back to Virginia.

Nice little get away

We were visiting our son thats in the Navy! Took 2 hrs after check in to get access code to enter house. Was suppose to rhe get code the morning of check in. Didnt receive until almost 6pm. House needs updated. Windows were taped in the middle due to air coming through, lights flickered the whole time. Bring surge protecters as the plug ins weren't close to bedside tables. Other than that our stay was nice. It was quiet and nice to see our son and spend time with him. Thanks for having us . Windows are taped shut

Could be really nice

Pros: the view, location good for our purposes, TV, comfortable beds Cons: very musty and odd odors, bugs in the kitchen, bathroom needs repairs of shower faucet and outdoor furniture falling apart. I am comfortable with the premise of an old fishing cabin, but it needs a good deep cleaning. Could be a great little house with a deep clean, good yard cleanup and decent outdoor furnishings. Way, way too expensive for just a couple of nights stay.

Quaint Bay retreat

The description does say it all. This property is a 1950s house. It's a great little getaway and if your stuck on modern amenities, you do have Internet and a massive TV. The house is off the main road, but this location is away from the typical noise of a beach town retreat. It's a few miles from grocery and such, but it worked well with a few minute walk to the bay side beach.

Not Great

I based staying here off of the reviews on VRBO only one was questionable but had good reviews otherwise. Unfortunately this place is not the best. It’s one thing to be old and another to be cleanly. This was not clean probably the least cleanly place I’ve stayed. Even worse than camping I had my family with me two young daughters and my wife and I could not stay the final night we were uncomfortable the windows don’t lock in a neighborhood that is ok at best. every door in the house is broken. The electrical work is very bad the lights flicker if any appliance is running. The pictures show that it is old but they do not show how dirty this place is. Largest waste of money and will be choosing a hotel or more trusted listings in the future. Very disappointed

Quiet little bungalow steps from the bay

We loved that it was so secluded and peaceful. After a long day at the beach it was a short ride to a quiet little cottage. We loved it and will stay again. The manager was extremely responsive and helpful.

It’s an older place just as listing describes. Worked great for our quick trip. Host was excellent at communicating.

Comfortable, noisy, unclean

The rooms were reasonably comfortable. There was mold in the shower and ants in the kitchen. I saw 2 versions of the listing. Both implied that the property was on Chesapeake Bay. It is not, it is on Willoughby Bay. Rather than hearing surf from the Chesapeake, we heard constant traffic noise for I-64, which is very close to the property. The rental has excellent Internet connection and a top notch smart TV. The parking area became muddy when it rained. A load of gravel would help. The mud ensured that the floors were always gritty. The coffee pot was a nice amenity. It should be listed. The Red Awning clerk we talked to told us that it did not have one, so we brought our own. One of the 2 listings did not mention pet fees. While these were reasonable, the first we learned of them was when we arrived.

Perfect getaway with pets

Very happy with our stay. The location was ideal for bring along our dogs. The yard was very private and had great views of the sunset over the water.
