I had my reservation, but a few hours before my arrival, I got a note through hotels.com that they are unable to accommodate me because they overbooked. They offered for me sleep in a tent on their location. I thought that was strange, but upon asking for a refund, I was never contacted again."

"difficult to find and had to ask the locals. it is crowded and has bad smells, upon arrival and checking in, I was charged an extra 160HKD for 5 days as part of a "Service Fee" that I was not made aware. I did not pay that "Service Fee" in cash, as I thought maybe the staff just keep it under the table. Otherwise disappointed by their practices of charging hidden fees upon arrival. BEWARE"

"I've stayed at Ashoka Hostel before. If you are a budget traveler, I can't recommend this place enough. I needed a cheap place to stay while getting my visa updated last year. So I stayed here again. I stayed during the May holiday this time, which meant the price was more than $44 a night, but it was still a bargain. "It was great to stay at. I appreciate the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Wish there was more information prior to trying to find the shuttle but I used a third party app to book the room so maybe that was the miss from there. Room was great. I enjoyed the stay and the ease of getting around using uber. "
