"Enjoyed our time spent and the lodging. The location was perfect as a base for our itinerary in the region. Good dinner recommendations that worked out well and we loved the hike that starts right from the hotel. Would stay here again if we make it back to the area (which we certainly hope to do)."

"Good location, lovely apartments. Super clean and a kitchen with most essentials of cookware/ cleaning/ utensils. (With coffee provided!). This was great for making breakfasts! No reception staff appeared to be on site over our weekend visit, but a number was available to call if needed. Key Card maker wasn’t working, but found another in the basement that worked the next day. Has laundry for a fee, which was wonderful. Nice gym. Overall a great stay for our family of five."

First Hotel Amalie

First Hotel Amalie

8/10 Good
"I really enjoyed my stay at First Hotel Amalie. The staff were incredibly friendly, kind and helpful, and I would especially like to mention Paulina, who was absolutely wonderful. During my stay, I had a problem with my wrist and could barely move it. Paulina was so attentive, caring and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure I was okay, and I will always be grateful to her. She truly understands the meaning of excellent customer service. The hotel’s location is fantastic - very central and perfect if you want to be close to everything. The breakfast was also nice, room very clean and the air conditioning was great. WiFi worked perfectly. I enjoyed my stay overall. The room was quite small, and unfortunately, I did not like the small single bed. I had never slept in a single bed before and felt worried about falling out, so I probably slept in an awkward position, which may have contributed to my wrist problem. For that reason, I would not choose a single room again. That said, First Hotel Amalie is a great choice for a shorter stay of two or three days, especially if you want to be in the city centre. It is not a five-star luxury hotel, but it is a convenient, central and comfortable option for a short visit. I would definitely come back but next time, I would choose a double room with a double bed! 😊 A special thank you again to Paulina for her kindness and exceptional customer service. You are a star! ❤️"

"The Dock is in a great location in Tromso and the breakfast buffet was quite good! We enjoyed being close to Vervet center for restaurants and a great bakery right around the corner. The restaurant was good, upstairs bar was beautiful to sit in but dinner there was quite pricey for what you got. Parking is in the next building but not too far but the they do have shuttle buses that run like every hour to the airport if you don’t want to rent a car. Also sauna is $40 Nok for 1.5 hours. Enjoyable stay!"
