The Stables is quite simply one of the best, most homely cottages we've ever stayed at.
Clean, superbly-equipped and welcoming, we'd unreservedly recommend this fine cottage 100%.
It's located on a wonderfully quiet, peaceful farm in the rural heart of north Norfolk.
We had a pigeon nesting in the wood store just feet away while tawny owls called out as they hunted in the black of night and the crack of dawn.
Surrounded by lovely countryside, the Stables is a fantastic base for touring the cracking north Norfolk coast.
Sheringham, Cromer, Cley, Blakeney and Wells are all within easy reach while the quintessential historic East Anglian market towns of Holt and Fakenham are just an easy drive away.
Ian the owner, a fellow marathon runner and kindred spirit, couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful while he's armed with a fierce knowledge of the local area.
We loved the Stables as did our two border collies, Izzy and Murray, who settled in right away while they had their own little paddock nestling alongside Ian's gorgeous Hampshire Down sheep to roam around in.
No silly rules, no long list of do's and don't's, we had a brilliant break at the Stables and one day we'll make sure we'll be back for more!
