Lovely building in main areas with character & history. Food great, staff friendly. Rooms very dated and in need of refurb. Struggle to see how this is a VIP Access hotel.
Lovely old coaching inn. We had a large room.
The bed was a four poster. The mattress was extremely soft. Too soft for me. It felt a bit like a water bed.
We only ate breakfast at the Ram. The food was very nice but service a bit slow.
It's a lovely place. Full of character and history.
The lady who checked us in could not have been more helpful about a sudden change in circumstances, she was so helpful, the food here is amazing and the rooms are very well presented and stocked
I really enjoyed the feel of the place. The food was excellent and the service was great

1 night stay
Stayed in room 1, bed was a little hard for me. Also radiator in bathroom was permanently on and couldn’t switch off!! Not ideal when the temperature outside is 25 degrees. Food was nice but it was an empty restaurant with 2 dinners at the time, which they put us both in the corner next to each other. Felt a bit intrusive.
Food Very good room was ok Duvet on bed too thick so it was hard to sleep could not have window open beecause of traffic noise.
very dissapointing that the Bar shut at 10pm
Stunning place loved the room was beautiful with all the wooden features and period decor. The actual pub was so welcoming staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was superb. Definitely will be returning
The staff are amazing and the food in the bar is lovely. I stayed in room 3 and the noise from the road is terrible. The noise doesn’t stop all night. The shower has a wooden frame running through it. It’s covered in cob webs and the room was also not cleaned and covered in cob webs. Unfortunately due to the cleanness of the room and the noise I wouldn’t stop there again. Though I would definitely eat there again. Shame as it has potential to be a lovely place to stop.
Our third stay at the Old Ram and, as before, we found the staff friendly and welcoming. The meals we had in the restaurant were delicious and the staff were attentive to our needs. The Old Ram is an ideal place to stay for a visit to Norwich and the surrounding area.
Fantastic find! Wonderful 17th century building, room was split level family room, very big and super clean. Staff were absolutely brilliant and the food/pub/bar superb!
A very friendly place. Staff helpful and quickly resolved a problem with the heating in our room. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good - especially my pancakes!
Lovely room, nice staff ,good quality food , the step at top of stairs is dangerous ,we both fell onto landing

Comfortable and clean, but needs a little tlc.
Perfectly comfortable and clean, with friendly service. However the rooms are very dated and tired. Ideal stop if all you need is somewhere to lay your head. Take your own hairdryer and toiletries.
Great pub, restaurant with comfortable accommodation, friendly helpful staff, the pub has a great selection of beers & lagers the restaurant has a good menu with great food. As they are right on tha A140 can be noisy at night unless you get a room at the rear. Highly recommended

Disappointing
Nice service, and did have a good nights sleep, but the bathroom was not very clean and the entire building smelled pretty badly when we arrived. Couldn’t really detect what was causing it so could have been nearby farming which can’t be helped! The bathroom needs to be updated cause everything was corroded or stained and the shower was leaking after use. My wife noticed a sticker from a bar of soap had been stuck to the tiles and not removed. Bit disappointing

Sadly below expectation !
We arrived about 9.30 on a Friday evening and were looking forward to a drink in the bar but were told they were closing which was disapointing for a Friday night. When we got in our room we were a little disapointed with the cleanliness in places, for example, wrappers on the floor by the bed so hoovering had not been done very well , We then looked to have a cup of coffee and cups were dirty so had to go down and ask for them to be changed.
The wifi was non-existent which in todays world is unacceptable .
On a positive the bed was very comfortable and
breakfast was very nice and the service given by our waitress,Vicky, was excellent ! She saved the day !
