The Perfect Fit
I have been doing youth ministry for 25 years and have done beach retreats with a senior high group every summer except 2020. Each summer we try to improve upon the year before, looking for the perfect combination of size, location, convenience, safety, and price. Last year we came close, but the owner sold his unit to a private party, forcing us to look elsewhere. I'm so glad he did.
Dawn told me 28 people would be "snug" but doable. We ended up with 27 people and the space felt cozy yet ample. Still there was room to escape the crowd if you needed to.
The location was just in a nice section of town, within walking distance of practically anything we could want except the boardwalk. Even so, nearly every shop at the boardwalk had a store within two miles of the house.
The FREE beach is a 90-second walk away and we had ample off-street parking for two 15-passenger vans AND an 8-foot trailer with room to spare PLUS several on-street spots directly outside the house.
With two fully equipped kitchens, sleeping for 28, two large gathering areas (perfect for discussions or games), and upper and lower deck space, time at the house was pleasant. We had nice beach weather every day, but for those who needed a break from the sun, the comfortably cool AC and multiple rooms were just right.
Dawn was proactive and responded within minutes from the first time I inquired about the property right through our stay.
We'll be back again because after 25 years we found the perfect fit!
