"Old Showa style minimalistic ryokan, but the room for 5 was spacepus (double room) and the tatami beds and beddings arw comfortable. Self-service to put the futon (which was no problem for us). Power plugs and Wifi were abundant. We were fine with steps but for eldery or disabled it may be a challenge. The hot spring bath was nice. "A beautiful Japanese style hotel. Great location a few minutes from the bus and train station and about 20 minutes from the castle. Lovely rooms, beautifully clean with everything you need as regards toiletries.No shoes allowed, free soft drinks after 3pm, free noodles after 9.30pm. Great natural spring

"Hotel’s onsen as shown in the website pictures are for members only. Only basic dormitory style rooms were offered with public bath which had water pressure problem that 2 cannot wash at the same time. The bath uses regular, non-hot spring water which only open from 800-2000. No hot water in the dormitory bathrooms. Hotel is well equipped with gym and game room however for members only. Wish more clarification on the booking sites for this. "

"We enjoyed our stay. The highlight was the rock-lined outdoor onsen fed by a hot spring. As we soaked in the mineral bath, we looked out at the snow-covered pines and blue skys above. It was the best onsen experience of our entire three-week holiday. We were there using a cold snap; the common spaces were chilly but our room was comfortable."
