“Property administration personnel was very rude and very short and unprofessional. He could not explain any of the questions I had about the many documents he made me sign which is something I never had to do at any other hotels. The hotel is Nit resort by far not. The minimum expectation is welcoming and hospitality was great. The rooms were not that great process will be horrible.”

“Sugar beach location was roughly 10-15 minutes from downtown. The beach on site, was ideal. Beach chairs need to be updated.. could be nicer. The balcony decks need cleaned. Hotel room was nice.. Breakfast delivered to room was nice in the morning, not having to go down to a lobby was a plus. Coffee machine in room could be updated.”

“This place offers an affordable price compared to other hotels in Traverse City. I chose it mainly to have a place to sleep. I used silicone ear plugs to help with noise since the air conditioning unit and traffic can be loud. It has excellent hot water and a small refrigerator, which I really appreciate. There is plenty of parking. I will stay at this place again.”

“Paul, who was working the desk when I checked in was welcoming and very helpful. He truly is an asset to this property. I travel a lot, stay in hotels a lot. One thing I notice is if the corners in the bathroom are clean or if the floor was just mopped, and the water left standing in the corners. “The host was very friendly, and was eager to supply us with whatever we needed. The cottage was so cute! It looked almost new, with updated light fixtures, and a wonderfully appointed bathroom. It had a huge jetted tub, as well as a walk in shower, with a nice, high shower head and beautiful tile work. The seating and the bed were very comfortable, and the air conditioner worked well. Each cottage has its own designated parking space (enough for two cars each!), and there is ample space for boat……

“Very dated motel. Stayed here for the nostalgia, as I grew up going to HoJo's around the US. Check in was ok, but no one there to check out. Stairs to the room were rusty with peeling paint. Crumbling sidewalks. Felt unsafe. Shower curtain had that foul, sour smell--needs to be soaked in bleach or disinfectant. A real turn off. Beds seemed clean and we're comfy. Breakfast was surprisingly good--hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, breakfast bars, muffins, juices, coffee, and best of all,……

“The rooftop bar was great.Happy hour at the restaurant not happy enough for me. The woman working the night shift was extremely helpful with finding a restaurant that was open later than most and that was good.”
