We enjoyed our stay in Fred’s beautiful NEW spacious modern studio in Oranjestad. It is in a brand new boutique property located in a suburb, just a few blocks from the harbour (8 cab or a short walk).Fred’s unit is #1, on the ground floor, with a private patio with great comfortable outdoor furniture. There is a lovely hidden shared garden area at the side, with a nice sunny pool. We enjoyed it often, especially in the morning, sitting in the lounge chairs in the shade of the glorious mango tree, listening to the birds.The kitchen is sleek, with brand new appliances, including a dishwasher. We mentioned that a toaster and a drying rack were needed, and Fred brought brand new ones the next day, thanks Fred! A few more utensils will help make the kitchen even more functional…just ask Fred and he will happily provide what you need. The bathroom is spotless, with a beautifully tiled shower and a heated/lit mirror and hair dryer.We really appreciated the camp chairs, cooler, and towels for beach trips. There were even snorkel masks and a beach umbrella, all stored in the clever hidden storage compartment in the base of the bed. There is a small grocery store steps from the property, and a charming café called Cappuchinas 2 minutes away. (Tues-Sun, until 4:30)Fred was a very kind and attentive host, suggesting restaurants and helping with airport drives.We enjoyed our stay, and would recommend it as a great alternative to overcrowded, overpriced high rise hotels.
