Hampton Inn St Ignace Lakefront Mackinac

"The decor is very contemporary, clean, and modern. An extra treat was a bar in the lobby/breakfast area. The only negative was a very old and warped sliding screen going out onto the balcony. Would not hesitate in staying there again."

"The Inn is a nice place, clean and comfortable. We stayed for one night. We were not satisfied with the staff on two occasions. Our room did not have a hairdryer so we called the front desk at 8:00 am and no one answered. Waited 10 minutes and called again with the same result. I went down to the front desk and a staff member was just sitting there. Not sure why she didn’t answer the phone. Asked for a hairdryer which she had under the counter. Not sure why our room didn’t have one. Second instance was at breakfast. Breakfast is similar to other hotels, average at best. First the orange juice machine did not work so I went back to the same front desk person, told her about it and she very nonchalantly said the staff member in charge of breakfast would be there and I should ask him about it. He finally showed up about 15 minutes later and simply opened the front of the machine and flipped a switch. Then, when I opened a box of milk, I found it to be spoiled. Told the same guy in charge and he almost rolled his eyes at me. I saw him look at a few of the boxes still remaining, didn’t open any of them or replace any and walked away. Let’s hope the others were not spoiled. We did appreciate their concierge services that delivered our luggage to the ferry station for us. That was a great service. Overall a nice hotel, but our experience was not as good as it could have been."

"Great Lodge and very nicely priced. Staff was friendly and premises were clean. Rooms were modestly sized, very clean and well taken care of. Beds were very comfortable, as was the rest of the room. In my opinion, much better priced and comfortable than many of the hotels on the Mackinac City side. Will stay again."
