"I stayed here on a Saturday during Coachella weekend, so I understand prices were higher than usual. I booked a deluxe queen non-smoking room and arrived around 6 PM. We quickly grabbed our key, dropped off our bags, and left, but when we returned later, the room smelled strongly like an ashtray. The bathroom had issues as well—the toilet water was running all night, and there were water drops on the floor. I went to the front desk to request a room change, but I was told the only available option was a one king smoking room, and that I wouldn’t be eligible for a refund. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to stay. Even the pillows and sheets had a strong cigarette odor, which made the stay very uncomfortable. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, especially considering the price."

"The place is exceptional. Staff is nice, room was clean, accessible to downtown. There's just random people knocking on your door at night asking to enter your room so just make sure to double lock. The place could use a security staff at night."

"This is a very outdated property that requires major overhaul of its rooms. The rooms at dated, have a moldy smell, although the linens were clean. I had much different expectations for the property especially since it was $750 a night. Definitely not worth $750/night. Get your act together Hyatt."

"Hotel is very nice and has great amenities. Please note that the upper wings do not allow anyone under the age of 21. There were no warnings at time of booking and we were not advised upon checking in, it was not until the staff member rudely came up to us when we were at the pool that we were not allowed there with our eight month old. Shortly after the frontdesk called me looking to place us into a different Wing, but after having our experienced soured by my interaction we decided to move to the Kimpton. Which I highly recommend for families. That said the Thompson is a good hotel for someone who’s looking for a resort feeling and not looking to leave the hotel."
