“We enjoyed our stay very much! Originally from Maui, Ocracoke reminded us very much of old Lahina and Paia towns. Black Beards Lodge is funky and awesome. Our room was clean and comfortable with great rocking chairs out on the front porch to watch the birds and people watch. Its a great location for walking to restaurants and just up the street from the Ocracoke Coffee Co. Only minor suggestion would be to attach a hook on the bathroom door. “While This property sits almost directly off the main drag, It's quiet. We slept like logs. The rooms are clean and wonderfully decorated. The young man who was behind the desk during our stay was so helpful, and I really appreciate that.”

“The view was amazing but I booked early to get a ground floor. There was alot of beach erosion and they moved us to a top floor. I asked if we could have the ground floor and they said no! Im handicapped so it was a problem! When the people came in Friday night and we were leaving Saturday morning they said no one asked them or they definitely would have switched with us!”

“A beautiful, well appointed spot. However, there are some issues with the service. The on site gentleman was wonderful. They were in my room fixing the fireplace when I arrived, had to come fix it again, left me just with a sheet when I said I had allergies to down-requiring me to call for a blanket, and did not have the plunges or sauna operational the duration of my stay. To their credit, they worked to get at least the sauna running. However, they only revealed the issue AFTER I booked……

“Property was suffering beach erosion after the winter and early storms on the Oceanside. But spectacular view from room and deck on the Oceanside. We should have asked them for a regular coffee pot. Very disappointed that the hot tub was not even warm. We went for beach horseback ride and for 62 yo we sure could have used it. Mgmt tried to get propane for hot tub . But just couldn’t. ”

“My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful.”
