Mother/Daughter Trip

We do a mother/daughter trip every year. This year we kept it simple b/c one of my daughters is 6 mths pregnant and we had my 73 yr old mom. This was a perfect location. Less than a 10 min walk to beach to your own private section of beach. Easy drive to either Destin or Panama City Beach Pier Park or just walking down 30A to different restaurants and shops.

The location makes this place!

The good: Very spacious house with lots of bathrooms so everyone could a spread out. Comfy beds. Great location - very close to the beach and 20 min walk to either Alys beach or rosemary. Bikes and beach chairs/umbrellas were a major perk!! The bad: They changed the bunks from the picture on the listing to metal frames which are extremely squeaky with any bit of movement. There are now 5 beds (3 on one, two on the other). The bunk with three beds was very tight and you definitely have to shimmy to get out since there’s not enough room to sit up. If you plan to stay here with all adults I would recommend discounting the bunk room entirely and not plan to have anyone sleep in that room. Probably fine for kids. The king room on the second floor that shares the jack and jill bath is missing a blind. I saw this in the other reviews and hoped it would be taken care of by our trip but nope! So don’t hold your breath or tell those staying in that room to bring an eye mask. The place desperately needs some landscaping work. There is a palm tree with dead branches in the front of the house that scraped the window of the 2nd floor master all day and night with the slightest bit of wind and drove the guests in that room crazy (very loud). We notified the property manager about this but nothing was done about it during our stay. The bushes in the front are so overgrown onto the walkway to the street and the drive way that it made it difficult to load/unload our car.

Mojo Dojo Casa

The house perfectly fit our family of 14. Plenty of kitchen items but need more cereal bowls and spoons. The guest bathroom is actually in the hall next to bedroom, but not a problem. Pool and hot tub were awesome. Great large patio around pool with lots of seating. Loved having 6 bikes and the chairs and umbrellas. Short walk to beach.

Fall break

Great location. Can’t be beat honestly. Private beach is a huge bonus. House was large and had what we needed. Pool area was kind of dirty and was full of leaves and ants. Could use some attention. One bedroom had a missing blind on a window. Otherwise it was all good. The location is by far the biggest selling point of this house. Also the rental company was great!

Family Getaway

The property was exactly as listed online. We had an amazing time and would definitely choose to stay at the same property. All members of my family loved it. The home was within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. It was very clean. Balconies were nice. A few beach supplies and bikes were provided and the pool was a hit with the 2 year old. (Kudos to the door alarm system) It was my entire family 10 adults and 2 babies and we all had our own space for alone time and the family room/kitchen area fit everyone comfortably when we were all together. Quick and easy walk to the beach and the beach was extremely quiet and not crowded at all. One issue when the beach rental worker would not put up the umbrellas on a day when the wind dissipated by 10am. I know the rules about storms and wind but other companies had the umbrellas up and open after the wind died down. After it took 6 hours to dry 4 beach towels we cleaned out the outside of the dryer vent (we could have built a small dog) and now the dryer works very efficiently. The room on the 2nd floor on the right is missing a blind and needs to be replaced. Overall we absolutely loved every minute of the visit. Highly recommend!

Great beach vacation

We had a great stay! Bedrooms were great! Nice location hear Rosemary Beach. Wonderful pool and jacuzzi. Property manager was very responsive to our requests for WiFi and a plumbing fix. Only concern was the refrigerator is too small to accommodate our needs for a family of 16. We had to use multiple coolers for our extra food and drink.

Location and pool can’t be beat

The property was nice, it was steps to the beach and shopping in town, had bikes to ride around the neighborhood and a huge pool. We had a few minor issues with the property which were quickly addressed with the property management company. They were extremely attentive and helped us enjoy our stay.

Great experience

We stayed at this property with two families. It was the perfect size and our kids loved the bunk room. Walking distance to the beach was not very far at all. Loved the privacy of the gated community. We did not have any issues with our stay. Highly recommend!

Fantastic property and location

Our stay at "Barefoot Sands" was just phenomenal. The house was spectacular and the service and responsiveness from 30A Escapes was great. Just a few steps to the beach, the pool was great for the kids, and the bedrooms were spacious and just right for out group

Overall good stay

I enjoyed staying at this property. The home was decorated well and overall in good shape. I loved the private beach access. I gave a lower rating on cleanliness because the linens were dirty in several rooms. There was sand in the beds and makeup on the pillow cases. Unfortunately, it was not noticed until late at night. The linens were changed by management the next afternoon but it would be nice to have extra linens available in the house so issues like that in the middle of the night can be resolved quickly. Additionally, we ran out of toilet paper and had to purchase this from a local store. I also gave a lower rating on the check in process because the gate code for the neighborhood was not listed on the check in instructions and it slowed the check in process down.

Would recommend!

Overall, the house was great! Got to check in early, was very clean, and perfect for families. Wonderful location for not being a beach front property-all of a 2 minute walk and you are there! You are also close to tons of shopping and dining too. An added bonus to the house were the alarms on the front door and to the pool, which with little kids was appreciated! We paid to have the pool heated, which was wonderful for the trip! But do be prepared that it won't be completely heated on the day you arrive. It gets turned on that day and takes 24 hours to fully heat up. Interactions with 30a escape property rentals was fantastic! Nothing but positive interactions. Always answered the phone and could answer questions/help with issues. Overall, would come stay here again. We had 2 families or 4 and we all had a our own rooms, bathrooms, and enjoyed the common living space and big kitchen for our dinners and hanging out. However, the pool company that this property contracts with is awful. They showed up unannounced to add chemicals to the pool at 5pm on the last day and did NOT tell us. We had just gotten back to the house from the beach and we were literally changing to go into the pool to enjoy our last night on vacation. We walked downstairs and just happened to catch the guy pouring in his last chemicals. We quickly approached him, and he was unbelievably rude and unapologetic, telling us we now had to wait at least an hour to go in. There is clearly miscommunication between the property management and pool company as we were checking out in 12 hours and this should be taken care of when the property is vacant. Had we been gone and he did this and got in after the chemicals were just added, it could have been a health or safety risk depending on what he added. Again, we would recommend this place but highly encourage the property management to choose more wisely with their pool company. No way do you want an employee that is rude, defensive and argumentative with vacationers of these homes.

Great Week

Excellent property and location, but as with all rental vacation homes, a few items need attention e.g. balcony door on 3rd level, unable to unlock cabana bath door for use, need stepping stones from patio to cabana bathroom for use during the day the door fixed. Disappointed in cleanliness of patio and pool box. All family enjoyed our week and would consider staying there again.

Won’t book this one again!

We have stayed at many VRBO’s in Rosemary Beach but this one will NOT be on our return list! Beautiful home BUT it was filthy and poorly stocked. Great location and beautiful neighborhood BUT it was not ready for check-in until almost 3 hours after promised! Totally not cool to do to 10 weary travelers including 3 little ones! Pool was awesome but again area was trashed and hadn’t been cleaned up at all. We had to put all the furniture back in place ourselves. For the price point of this house the amenities should have been top notch. Instead we had old worn out pots/pans, kitchen utensils in total disarray, fridge that doesn’t stay cool, terrible shower heads that feel like needles on sun burned skin. We weren’t even left with a broom to sweep up the sand the housekeeper left behind! Most of the bedroom & balcony doors stick. We enjoyed the bikes but had to call to get them serviced - Another thing that should have been taken care of PRIOR to our arrival. Bottom line - our family had a great time but we had many frustrations with Barefoot Sands and we definitely did not get our money’s worth with this rental!
