Visit this district’s well-known attraction, the iconic Eiffel Tower, and its other superb historic buildings and museums.

Discover the true essence of Paris in the 7th Arrondissement with a plethora of beautiful art and design as well as numerous options for delicious food and drink. Marvel at the work of some of Europe’s most talented painters and gain a fresh perspective of the city from the calm waters of the Seine River.

Look for the Eiffel Tower on the western side of the 7th Arrondissement. Take an elevator for views from the first and second floors before getting on a separate elevator or climbing stairs to the top. Be aware that lines are often extremely long. The second elevator is not available to disabled visitors. Make sure you see the tower after dark when it is decorated with flashing lights for a few minutes every hour.

Back at ground level, head to the HôtelNational des Invalides, a 20-minute walk east. This massive hospital complex was built by Louis XIV during the 17th century to house war veterans. Discover an assortment of military relics at the Musée de l’Armee and explore the Église du Dôme where the tomb of Napoleon is kept beneath a glistening round golden roof.

Among several fascinating art museums nearby, one highlight is Musée Rodin to the east, with its extensive collection dedicated to sculptor Auguste Rodin. The Musée d’Orsay on the banks of the river opposite Jardin des Tuileries has paintings by Monet and van Gogh while the Musée du Quai Branly documents tribal art from France’s former and current territories in Oceania and Africa.

Find many dining choices in the 7th Arrondissement, with a huge selection of restaurants serving mouthwatering French cuisine. Accommodation here cater for all tastes, with both budget and luxury rooms available. Comfortably walk between sites or use the several metro lines, all with regular services. Get a different outlook on famous sites with a river cruise on the hop-on, hop-off boat that stops at the Eiffel Tower, Musée d’Orsay and other places along the banks.
