Room was very nice, comfortable and clean. Neighborhood quiet. Very easy walking distance to the area attractions and good dining options. Didn't partake of breakfast, went to a nearby cafe that we'd already decided to go to. A very nice stay.
Paris, Kentucky is the cutest town you can imagine. A pitcure-esque Main Street, with lots of local vendors and great food and drinks. Some construction is happening on the street in front of the house, but the whole town is really helpful and great about parking. The room itself was PERFECT and the house is just gorgeous. Kathy was super helpful, there was a minor snafoo with checking in (that was not anyone's fault, just a "these things happen") and Kathy always responded to my texts and phone calls within minutes. I highly recommend staying here and visiting Paris!
The room was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable—just what I needed for a quick stop on my way through and MUCH better than some cheap hotel. The host was very welcoming, with a small gift and snacks. It was a pleasant experience!
The room is very cute and clean. The sheets had a nice fresh scent and ample towels were provided. It was a refreshing change from the standard hotel room. Kathy responded to inquiries and requests. The location is very convenient to restaurants and the old downtown.
Beautiful accommodations, gorgeous building, lovely town
Perfect for an overnight stay for my partner and I: as pictured/described, great location, clean, comfortable, charming and stylishly decorated. We were just passing through but fell in love with “Martha” and Paris, and hope to return soon!
Century Building being used as an Art Studio, currently with a suite available for rental. Clean, but not fancy. Host was accessible, friendly and accommodating. We like being near most of the places we visited, and Paris itself was fun to walk around and tour!We would stay here again!
Would not recommend for older travelers. 2 flights of stairs to carry luggage. Street parking. Access with keys difficult and probably not safest. Couldn’t figure out heat/cooling. To be fair, we decided not to stay so could not evaluate further. Called owner, call returned 4 hours later.
My partner and I got away for the weekend to this cozy artsy room. Our hostess provided homemade breakfast, fresh fruit and access to a kitchen located in the main part of building. Our room was clean, provided with hand sanitizer and necessities that come with a B&B.
Paris is full of niche culture, there was a local farmers market, restaurants and bourbon distillery, who are a part of the Craft Bourbon Tour.
It was perfect. We’ve stayed in many rental homes. This room and the spaces available were lovely. The bed (which to all of us travelers is the most important thing after cleanliness) was so comfy. Loved all the art on display and only wish some was available for sale. Wish we’d had more time to explore your lovely town too. Thank you.
The room was charming but there is no one there. The area outside is “ under construction “ the breakfast was snacks The stairs were very steep and tall. Hard to get up and down for older people
Kathy was excellent in communicating and answering my questions. The room was clean, updated, and cozy. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 for location was the minor road noise. It's on a main throughway in Paris, so that is expected. Kathy provided a white noise machine, so that helped! There is construction going on in Paris (has been this way for years), so I anticipated that and accept that it's the way to better roads in the future. So if you are ok with a delightful place in downtown Paris, this is for you! If you are looking for a quiet farm setting, this is not. But staying in Paris is my preference when I visit Kentucky, and I hope to always be able to reserve a room at Art on High when I visit horse country!
I want my money back! The main purpose of lodging is to get some sleep, but when the air conditioner makes a grinding noise every twenty minutes and is located right over your head, this is impossible. This lack of sleep made driving the next day a bit risky. Also, the place was dirty, especially the kitchen where the refrigerator was disgusting and filled with half-empty kettles and frying pans. The filthy front door was our first indication that the owner knows nothing of hospitality. Boxes and other assorted crap were stacked up in the downstairs rooms with their doors open for the guests enjoyment. The room with a small dining room table and chairs was dark, cluttered and unappealing, so there was really nowhere to sit and eat. The back patio was a mess, complete with a bistro table set whose chairs had no seating surface -- you can't make this stuff up! Finally, the place is located on a busy street and situated at a stop light, so not only do you get road noise all night, you get to hear trucks accelerate away from the light. Paris is town that is trying, but like this rental, ended up being disappointing with its multiple empty store fronts. One more thing, the so-called breakfast offerings were pathetic but it didn't matter since the place was so dirty that we wouldn't have eaten there anyway. I surely wish I knew photos could be posted on VRBO reviews because they would tell the story better than what I can write here.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Was unpleasantly surprised
Room was just as pictured and that was best part of stay in Paris. Had never been to Paris and was investigating retiring in the area. Have been to many VRBO sites over the years. However, have never been to one like this. The only person we crossed paths with is a resident artist that uses the space. Got up in night and went to kitchen with cell phone flashlight because lights at night were off and a mystery as to how to turn on. The breakfast which is quoted in the ad here
" Breakfast is provided in a self-serve, continental format. Our offerings include bagels, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and tea. The menu changes daily. Evening snacks are available.". What I found were a stack of bowls which I had to wash, a couple pouches of Quaker Oats instant oatmeal and a walmart granola bar. Thank God the coffee machine worked. And I guess part of it was my own fault because when the ad said it was self serve format, I pictured a buffet style breakfast, not a no one else is in the house and you are on your own to figure it out. The pros to the room and place, the cost was reasonable and my wife chose and liked the room. The cons to the room and place, Paris was not very enticing as a location to move to. Breakfast mentioned above. Although the cost of the room was reasonable and breakfast would have been understandable given that cost, once the VRBO fees, cleaning fees and taxes were added, the room came to about $20 from doubling the cost. And that made it not worth it.
