Overlooking Ile Saint Louis

Ile St. Louis

Wonderful location. Near shops, coffee, restaurants, and ice cream. Short walk to Notre Dame and several transit stops. Quite a few steps. So, not for people with physical limitations.

Absolutely terrific location. The apartment is larger than it appears in the photos. Well equipped kitchen. Excellent security. Great local markets steps away. Along with restaurants and Berthillon ice cream/sorbet shops. Apartment was very clean. Quiet. Safest neighborhood in Paris. Highly recommend. Would stay here again!

Fantastic location

Loved the location on Ile Saint Louis. Close walking distance from everywhere we wanted to explore in Paris. The size of the apartment was comfortable for our family of 4, especially given the location. The sofa bed is very soft making it challenging for 2 to share but our daughters adjusted. The small shops on the next street were quaint and had everything we were looking for. I would recommend to family and friends.

Iles Saint Louis flat

Great location but physically challenging to climb to the 5th floor. Would benefit from a more comfortable sofa bed. Great check in and out.

Amazing apartment in a fantastic location, wish I had noticed people mentioning just how many stairs there are. It's a 5th floor walk up (and worth it) but be aware it's a long walk!

Charm and location

First, communication with the owner and local contact was amazing. We arrived early in the morning and they were able to accommodate an early check in. The location is great and walkable to many restaurants and public transportation. I would definitely recommend for a couple or a solo traveler or family with single younger child for the pull out sofa.

Perfect Apartment in Heart of Paris

We had a great stay at this apartment. Everything was exactly as shown and advertised. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and quick to respond to any questions or requests. The property was in the perfect location within the city. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone else and would certainly stay again.

unbelievable location for very comfortable apartment

You literally cannot beat this location! The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable. Makes sight seeing so simple and easy. The only thing to be aware of is that the apartment is on the 5th floor, so pack accordingly otherwise getting stuff up and down can be WORK! That said, we wouldn't change a thing about our visit!

This delightful apartment is worth the stair climb. It is very well appointed and comfortable. We had stayed here previously in the spring. Our winter-time visit required a little adjustment in learning not to run the heater at the same time as the stove-top or the coffee maker or the water kettle, but we were able to stay warm and cook a few meals.

Parisian Charm

The apartment was more charming than the online photos. Super clean and with nice appliances and comfortable bed. Old world Paris charm. Since it is directly in center of Paris I was always only a few metro stops away. I was traveling alone and always felt safe in apartment and coming home very late at night. Extremely quiet neighborhood at night. Great stores, cafes and places to eat only a few doors away. I hope to return again. Cheers!

Middle of everything

I stayed here with my maid of honor at my wedding 36 years ago. She had never been overseas and I wanted to make this special for her. This apartment is situated perfectly in Paris. It does have a lot of stairs so if you have health issues or bad knees, keep this in mind. But it is lovely and quiet. I accidentally left the key in the apartment but when I contacted the host, they took care of me immediately. I hope that I can return with my husband to continue our love affair —- in Paris

Excellent location!!

Wonderful accomodation and location. My 29 year old daughter and I stayed for 7 nights. I found myself wanting to come right back to both il St. Louis and il de la Cite instead of spending time over the river inside the actual city (even thought islands are considered inside city) because it was a bit more quiet , even more charming, and all of our needs were met . Beware of the 5 flights of stairs. If your bag is heavy it will be a challenge - reviews are right about that but great exercise , too! Property manager extremely on top of it all ; extremely responsive. Thank you!

I plan to rent again

Perfect location. Clean. Spacious. Many conveniences. Owner very helpful and easy to reach. But, mathematically, five flights of stairs equals approximately 100 steps. I'm 78 years old and in decent shape. I definitely plan on renting this apartment again. BUT...........

You can't beat this location.

First, there are 98 steps up. You need to know this. If you can deal with that, this is a great spot to call home base for your stay. We love this area of Paris and would stay here again, with less luggage. Some minor things need to be fixed with the place, the shower head holder, new towels, and an instruction guide for the washer/dryer. We got check in instructions about 2 weeks before, so that gave me piece of mind. A wonderful stay, can't wait to be back.

A cozy apartment in an exclusive neighborhood

We stayed here as a family of four (including two kids), and really enjoyed this cozy apartment. The location was excellent (centrally located on Ile St. Louis) and the street, building, and apartment were very quiet. In the three days we stayed, we encountered another neighbor only once. We appreciated the washer/dryer and the shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The only real negative we experienced were that the doors to the bathroom and bedroom closet were very difficult to open and the main bedroom door wouldn’t close (door got stuck on ceiling beam). The sofa bed in the living room was creaky and tricky to fold in and out, and just big enough for two kids, but it got the job done. Apartment was clean, tastefully decorated, and well stocked with toiletries, outlet converters and had enough toilet paper and paper towels for our stay. We would definitely stay hear again!

A lovely home away from home

We had a wonderful stay here, for sixteen days. Our kids slept well on the foldout couch and the bedroom was spacious. The apartment is charming and homey, and we enjoyed getting home at the end of a long day sightseeing. There are numerous shops, restaurants and grocery stores in the area. Notre Dame is a five minute walk away. Metros are close-by--Pont Marie station and Cité station were the ones we used most frequently. The Seine is all around and the island of Île St. Louis was lovely, but not noisy. It was a perfect location to reach all of the sites you might want to visit.Gina, the property manager, was always helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had.The washer/dryer is a combo machine that we were not familiar with, so that took some figuring out, and Gina helped us with that. Occasionally, the power would go out, but I believe this was primarily because 1) it is a lovely old building and 2) it was winter,so we had the heat on all the time. We found that if you turn off the heater in the bedroom, then you could do a load of laundry or a load of dishes. But if you had them both going at once, the electricity would go out and you'd need to press the button in the box by the door to turn it back on. This was by no means a deal-breaker, though! It's just helpful to know if you are there in winter. I like quirky buildings, so it wasn't a problem.The stairs gave us a workout, but we loved our view! I would highly recommend this apartment.

Wonderful apartment in excellent location

The apartment is very well appointed with everything you would need for your stay. It was very clean when we stayed there and well stocked with all the necessities (there was shower gel, laundry detergent, dish soap, extra toilet paper, etc.). The location is wonderful, we will stay on Ile Saint Louis every time we visit Paris. There is a nice hipster coffee shop (Noir) right across the street, and lots of wonderful restaurants on the main street, including a famous ice cream shop. At the tip of the island there is a park with a playground and there isn't too much traffic on the streets (only the streets that connect to the bridges seem to have much traffic--the street the apartment is on is very quiet). The apartment is on the 5th floor, so you have to be prepared to walk up all of those stairs (wasn't a problem for our kids, but would be tough if you have mobility issues). There is a sewer smell in the apartment when it is rainy, but that happens in many of the historic apartments, as well as in the street. There was no AC, but there were fans and it cooled off very nicely at night when the windows were open (no screens on windows, but minimal bugs--no mosquitos when we were there in late July). We didn't miss AC, it seemed to be fairly cool when we were there--highs around 75F/24C. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Paris.

Character with good location

Clean rustic style Parisian apartment. Things we liked - great location and lovely and quiet inside. Had everything we needed including washing/drier. The bathroom and shower are small but functional. The shower head holder needs repairing but works fine. Local shops are great with a little supermarket, bakery and restaurants within minutes of your doorstep. PLEASE NOTE this apartment is on the 4th floor with old wooden staircase so you need to be fit and strong enough to carry your bags up/down the stairs. Overall we loved our stay here and the great location. We have a few suggestions for improvement - Unfortunately, the sofa bed in the lounge room is very old and uncomfortable and needs replacing. No blinds or shutters in the loungeroom to block out light for the person sleeping in the lounge. Need a new frying pan as the base is all bent out of shape and isn't non-stick therefore not easy to cook in. A microwave would be fantastic. A visitor's book explaining how to use the wall heater in the kitchen area would help. The power went out one morning but the host was on to it and got it back on within a few hours.
