Save yourself the headache and money - book elsewhere!
I don't even know where I should start. In summary, our stay in Paris was completely ruined by this property and the hosts. The place is filthy - and most certainly has mold issues (bad stench and musty odor) - does not sleep 5 as it advertises (only has 2 full size futons - the other single futon is broken and there is no space to open it) - with items that are literally falling apart. And here's the kicker - we came back one evening and there was no water. Not in the faucets, not in the toilet or the shower - not a single drop. We immediately contacted the host (Warren) as well as the lady (Fatine) that is supposed to be helping us during our stay. We asked if they can come and help us - since we had 3 small children in a city where we didn't speak the language. We called them multiple times. They ignored our calls and then told us that we should check to see if it is an issue related to the building and knock on neighbor's doors to talk to them. What? Is that a solution to a problem?? And then they told us to wait it out.
It was 6:30pm with no line of sight to if or when the issue would be fixed. Our kids had to go to bed. As a last resort, we had to book 2 rooms at the closest hotel for 2 nights. We went back to check at 1:30am, still no water.
And when we mentioned this to the host - their response was, you should have waited. WHAT? Incredible.
I have all the texts saved - and not a single 'we're sorry'. They would not take responsibility at all. And essentially told us it was our fault.
The entire apartment has just ONE fan (upstairs) with temperatures of close to 100 degrees. Downstairs - which is really a basement - there is a dehumidifier (only) because the humidity is that bad. It has to be kept on otherwise the smell is unbearable. And it works by heating up the place - even when it was in high 90s outside. And every day, it stops working because it gets completely filled with water - and has to be drained upstairs through that windy staircase. Just horrible.
They certainly hired a good photographer for the pictures - this place is a scam. We'd have been much better off getting 2 rooms (which would have cost about the same as this place when we'd booked) at a hotel instead for our family of 5. Stay away. Find a place with positive reviews - especially having responsible hosts that take responsibility of their place. This is the first time we've left a negative review - hopefully it helps someone.
