Sea Ranch Style

Great house with vaulted ceilings and great views of surrounding trees and wilderness. Good news is the house is true to its original style which really cool. Baths and bedrooms could use updating at some point. Otherwise presented well and clean.

No Air Conditioning and Pebble Beach Security Issues

October 2024 We booked this for 6 adult family members. First the bad: This property has no central air conditioning, even though the page specifically says there is. Two of the bedrooms need bed upgrades, one is a sofa bed. The pots and pans were low quality and were not enjoyable to cook with, for example, the Teflon was chipped and worn on the pans. There is a coffee pot, but old style. It would be nice to see this upgraded to a duel pod and pot brew. There is misinformation between the property and the Pebble Beach Security gates. Our names were not on the list so they wanted us to pay each time we returned to the property. Wasting a lot of time to try and deal with this revealed that Pebble Beach has a policy that the owner of the property is the only one who can add names to the list, not the property company. This is very unlikely going to happen and you will be the one they take it out on. Although I had a long conversation with their security manager after complaining about one of their guards, hopefully they fix this issue. The good: The property is very private and quiet The master bedroom and bath were top-notch. The kitchen appliances were great, minus the induction stovetop. Nice washer and dryer. The automatic gate gave you security and privacy. Contacting the management company by phone and text was quick and easy.

A beautiful space

My partner and I went with a few friends for a pocket retreat to pebble beach. We had a lovely time in a beautiful space. Everything was very clean and tidy and there was plenty of space for clothes. The kitchen was well kept, and had very nice appliances. But the stove (an induction stove) needed a special touch to make things work consistently. Specifically the lock button. Also in the kitchen a set of very precariously placed knives. If you have children or dogs, or just want to be extra safe I would recommend moving them if you plan on using the kitchen area. Otherwise the oven works well and the fridge and freezer are quite spacious. The heating a cooling system was a bit confusing and not very responsive. Our party constantly struggled with changing the thermostat. On that note, the seemingly main thermostat control heats up only 1 bathroom. Not the main living room area. Hence lots of clothing changes. Be prepared! The hosts did a lovely job of placing labels with helpful information about the microwave, stove and other niche things throughout the house. Overall we had a lovely time and would come back. Be it with a bit more preparatory packing and an extra set of blankets.
