“The rooms were very clean, the mattress was excellent and overall the interior is clean looking, modern and cozy. Very competitively priced, friendly helpful staff, will book early again next season to ensure there is availability. Super happy with our stay and very close and walkable to all amenities, theatres, restaurants, shops, etc.”

“We were in a Junior Suite, room 1, with a Queen bed and Double sofa bed. Our main complaint was with the odd layout of the room. It was clear it used to be two different rooms that they combined to make a larger room. However, the toilet was on one side, and the shower on the other side (each in an enclosed bathroom). There is a sink on either side of the room. When the sofa bed was extended out, it was very challenging to get to the toilet from the side of the room with the Queen bed. There was……

“Great location, walking distance to restaurants and Avon Theatre. Complimentary shuttle van to Festival Theatre. Room was clean and well-supplied (including bathrobes, Nespresso coffee machine.”

“What a lovely historical inn! Restored where it counted, and modernized where it needed. Note: there are no elevators, so be prepared for stairs if you're booked on the second or third floors. Also: there is no reception on site, so pay attention to the check-in details sent to you by the owner.”

“This property is extremely outdated with little modernization. The room is small with outdated furniture, although the mattress was good. The room door only had a handle lock which opened with an actual key - no deadbolt or other locking feature. The auxiliary entrances were not locked or secured in any manner. Check-in took 20 minutes with a clerk who struggled with understanding 3 people checking in with 2 separate reservations. I am unclear if language was the barrier or if it was……

“Overall the stay was great. Staff is wonderful and the restaurant bar is our favorite stop for drinks before heading off to plays. We have used this property before and the location can not be beaten. My only issue is there was a hold for the full stay amount plus an additional $200 for room charges. Then on check out we were charged the room rate amount. It has now been 7+ days and the fairly large hold is still pending. It is frustrating to have to review and confirm the amount is still not……

“No staff on site. Room code didn't work, number to call only went to voice mail. Managed to get someone on the line to remote open our room door. There was no available restaurant or lounge on site. Screaming kids on our floor. No one at checkout to talk to. Room was very nice, but no service to speak of.”

“The Mercer hotel is located right downtown. The room was surprisingly spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable too! The restaurant attached to the hotel has a lovely patio with great food and drinks. I would definitely stay here again!”

“Staff was friendly during check-in and check-out, very quick, too. The room was large and clean. Beds were queen sized. There was a microwave and a refrigerator. Air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was updated. Shampoo and soap, and hair dryer were provided. Location was excellent, on the road out of town, and 5 minutes from downtown. The one improvement I would like to see is a coffee maker in the room.”
