The resort is beautiful, everyone was very kind and very helpful. My only complaint is that I booked an ocean view room and they instead put me in a lagoon room. When I requested to have my room changed they said it would be an additional charge for an upgrade, although that is originally what I paid for was the ocean view room.

The resort was beautiful. We stayed in one of the Villas and it was amazing. The only thing that can use some improvement is the resort food. Breakfast was ok and lunch and dinner no thank you. Other than that our stay was perfect.

Our group of two couples spent a week in a villa on the beach side of the Umaya Resort and absolutely loved it. The unit was nicely appointed and truthfully feet away from the Caribbean Sea. Anytime we had a concern they were very prompt to respond. They transferred us to and from the Placencia Airport free of charge. While there we ordered dinner through the Fyah Beach Bar, pizza at Don Tonito's and breakfast in their Casa de Maiz restaurant. All were very delicious food. We also booked two of our excursions through them with great communication from them. The only thing we would recommend for them to make improvements on would be to provide dish cloths, towels and pot holders in the kitchen. We will absolutely book our next Belize vacation at the Umaya Beach Resort!

Our two bedroom, two bathroom top floor corner unit with spacious and ideal for two couples. The view was fantastic! We enjoyed the delicious birthday dinner at the restaurant our first night there, and Rosa produced a beautiful Slice of birthday cake as a special treat. Having a hotel on both beachfront and inland waterway is a bonus, both sides provide extraordinary views. We also enjoyed a relaxing couples’ massage. We found the staff friendly and accommodating, the drinks delicious, and we enjoyed time on the lounges on the beautiful beach. Rum punch was favorite beverage to cool off in the afternoons. We enjoyed the location of Umaya, taking walks along the waterfront, as well as driving into Placencia. We highly recommend this lovely hotel.

The villa was very comfortable and had an amazing view. We couldn’t have asked for better. All the staff we met were very polite and nice. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to family and friends. We really liked the shuttle into Placencia village. Very convenient for us because we didn’t have a rental car. Love our entire stay.

The resort is located in a beautiful area. The view is astonishing and the staff is amazing, however the rooms are too outdated and cleanness is not good enough for the price. This is definitely not $250 a night quality hotel. The room that we got appeared not to be cleaned prior. Bedsheets were dirty and WAY too old with stains and both beds appeared to have been just made without having bedsheets replaced. The balcony area was dirty and unkept. The service is great but amenities and condition of the resort is extremely poor for the price. I would not be staying here if i knew it was this outdated. Very disappointed.

We loved our stay at umaya. The beach is awesome. The whole pool area/chairs/dock and set up are awesome too. So great that you can also borrow Kayaks and paddle boards (which we did) to have morning paddles when the ocean is calmer. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff helpful and accommodating and the food at the hotel was good as well. There are also many restaurants and a supermarket (10 min drive) close to umaya without having to always make the drive into Placencia town (about 20/25mins) Oh those speed bumps! We would for sure come back to umaya again as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Umaya Resort is the perfect blend of comfort, location, and laid-back beach vibes. With a bakery, fruit stand and several award-winning beachfront restaurants a short walk away, no car is needed. The property itself is fantastic. We loved spotting starfish and stingrays off the dock. We enjoyed the complimentary paddle boards and kayaks, sunrise walks along the beach and the smoothie bar. Our unit had a full kitchen, great air conditioning and plenty of hot water. Peaceful, scenic, and incredibly convenient; would absolutely stay here again.
