Beautiful New Mexico Getaway
My family and I were in town for a wedding and wanted to stay in a special place. We found it in Charlotte’s home. It’s a beautiful adobe style house in the hills of Placitas. The area is very quiet with spectacular sunsets. The house has everything you could possibly need. It was spotless, comfortable and communication with Charlotte was very smooth. Very close to Santa Fe for a day trip. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely Desert Retreat
This house exceeded all expectations. Charlotte has gone beyond all VRBO houses we have stayed in before. If this house doesn’t have it, you don’t need it. The adobe style house has interesting landscaping that fits in with the desert. She was very quick to answer any questions we had. Stay here if you want to be off the beaten path. Very peaceful.

Enjoyable stay
We had a pleasant and easy stay at this property. Communication with the host was very good, and we appreciated the guest book that was supplied (containing information about the cooling system, etc.). The sunsets, night skies, and storms were fun to view from the property. We hope to be back someday!

Great stay in a peaceful neighborhood
My family and I had a great stay at Charlotte's. The house is in a tranquil community of Placitas, NM where there are great views, relaxing drives, and a great place to just be. We saw a wild horse! Charlotte was very communicative and helpful and the house was lovely just as presented.

Beautiful home
Our family loved how peaceful and beautiful this home was. Tucked into the surrounding rolling hills gave a great since of privacy and feeling of being surrounded by nature. All communication with the Hosts was very smooth. Our family really appreciated the fun games, books and activities stored at the home.

Wonderful stay at beautiful home in an incredibly peaceful setting
My wife and I felt at home as soon as we walked into this beautiful home. The home included all the amenities we needed for our comfort and convenience, including a fully stocked kitchen- ideal for cooking. Coffee tasted delicious while sitting in the lovely patio overlooking New Mexico’s morning sunrise. We enjoyed the home’s peaceful surroundings and spectacular desert mountain views. The home provided a tranquil, clean, comfortable, and inviting setting for hosting our visiting family. Our stay in Placitas increased our likelihood of our eventual move to New Mexico. Lastly, the home is conveniently located close to numerous restaurants serving New Mexican cuisine, including sopapillas, breakfast burritos, green chile soup, enchiladas and huevos rancheros. :-) We will definitely return to this lovely home next trip to New Mexico. We loved our stay here. Beautiful setting, great house, very clean and stocked. The phone service is also poor....but we unplugged for a few days. Wonderful place to stay and we would definitely stay again.

Quiet Desert Living
I said to my husband, "Do you hear that?" He said, "I don't hear anything." I said, "Exactly." The increasingly rare actual quiet. This is a lovely house, well stocked for kicking back and relaxing--views from every window, comfy furniture, fully equipped kitchen, lots of outdoor seating, games and jigsaw puzzles, interesting books, a Bluetooth speaker for music, well, you get the idea. The owners have obviously put substantial thought into the decor, from the gorgeous cedar (?) floors to the rich desert color furnishings and artwork. And the grounds have been landscaped by someone who knows what they're doing--native plants and natural hardscaping that takes full advantage of the setting, a large property with privacy and open space. An authentic desert living experience (be prepared for a longish, winding way in from the main road). If you're seeking bustling towns and nightlife, this isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for a quiet spot to read a book, sip coffee, watch wildlife, and relax, this is just the ticket.

Peaceful & beautiful desert getaway!
We always wanted to know what it would be like to live in the desert. You made our dreams a reality! Very clean, and had everything we needed to feel right at home. The property is amazing!! So much to do - just in the yard! Several seating areas with awesome views. Love how quiet & secluded it was, but still not too far from “city things”. The peaceful mornings on the back porch with visits from wild horses are memories we’ll treasure forever. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place!

Great property
My mother in-law came into town unexpectedly and this was the perfect place for her to stay. The house is very clean, comfortable, and inviting. The owners are very kind and accommodating. Communication with the owners is great and they are quick to respond. The house is gorgeous and in a wonderful area. We'd definitely stay here again. My family from the city especially loved seeing the views and all the wildlife in the area.

Santa Fe Getaway
The location of this home was quiet with gorgeous desert mountain views. The home was beautiful, and well maintained inside and out. The owners were very easy to communicate with. The drive to Santa Fe was quick, and very easy to navigate. We will definitely stay here again.

Comfy, cozy, cool
We loved spending a few days in an adobe house in the high desert. It was a new landscape for us and very interesting and beautiful. This house was comfortable, clean and easy to enjoy. It had everything we needed and more. Interesting books, good movies, a well-stocked kitchen, etc. The owners were wonderful and helpful—and easy to reach for questions. Highly recommend.

Quiet and comfortable in Placitas
We were two couples in Placitas for a wedding. We were very happy to have this home base. The house is clean, has comfortable furniture, and is well appointed for cooking. There are two dining areas inside and a nice shaded area outside as well. There were plenty of towels in the bathrooms and hand soaps at every sink. It was quiet at night.

Wild Horses and a Quiet Desert
This VRBO is off the beaten path in a foothill town north of ABQ but it was perfect. We booked this house to visit my UNM student for his birthday. The house was beautiful , private, quiet and well-stocked. While it was about 15 minutes to get out of residential areas we enjoyed every minute. The location is a great gateway to the mountains and Sante Fe and an easy drive to shopping and restaurants . The highlight was being surrounded by the pristine desert and catching glimpses of the herd of wild horses that roam the area.

beautiful home in the desert
while we didn't spend much time at the property during our vacation, it was a nice quiet location deep in the desert. the night sky was bright with stars and the air was clean and peaceful. new mexico is becoming one of my favorite places to visit and this home added greatly to my enjoyment

Charlotte and Arnaud are great hosts and their house is really nice: comfortable, well equipped, sufficiently isolated but not too much. We had a great 2 days stay, followed Arnaud's suggestion to try a local jeep tour which was the highlight of our trip.

Our family stay was PERFECT!
The host is probably one of the kindest people I’ve met. The home was well equipped with everything and I mean everything nothing went wrong. The house was fully STOCKED! Our kids had just a wonderful time. The home was so clean it was impressive! It felt like it was never used!! There was absolutely no disappointment what's so ever. His response time is quite fast, and his instructions were crystal clear. Couldn’t have been better. It was so beautiful and equipped with everything I needed. They had so much to do.. our kids were no where from the word bored. Couldn’t have been better. There were games, movies, bikes, outside fire you can sit with family at night with telescopes to see the stars at night. We loved everything about it (and lots of lovely touches / local design). They were very helpful and the location was great. The place was just absolutely beautiful and I loved every moment of my stay. This is definitely somewhere you want to stay, and hate when you have to leave.

Great family experience
This property was cozy and great for our family getaway! The view is amazing. Every morning we watched the sun rise over the mountains. Our elementary age kids loved all the games, movies, and books offered in the house. There is something for every age! The kitchen has everything you need …except food. The host is very responsive. This house did not disappoint.

Great Stay
My new husband and I went to New Mexico for our honeymoon, we loved the house. Good central location, very clean, had everything we could have needed, AND we got to see the wild horses in the neighborhood so that was definitely the cherry on top!

Incredible sunsets!
This home is lovely! The house is exceptionally clean, and it was very comfortable for our family of 4. It felt like we were in another world; the rolling desert terrain, Adobe homes and incredible sunsets. The Balat’s are extremely accommodating, and we are so grateful they worked with our schedule change. With Albuquerque about 30 min away, it was convenient for restaurants, shopping and the Balloon Fiesta. We drove to Santa Fe for a Sunday excursion-and what a treat! The architecture, shopping and art galleries were all amazing! Note: many restaurants in Santa Fe are not open on Sunday’s; however, it did not prevent us from experiencing and enjoying the town. Balat Family-thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful Placitas home-what an experience! Thank you being so gracious and caring!!

A perfect escape from city life
What a great stay! The house was even bigger than we were expecting. The photographs just do not do it justice. the house was incredibly clean, well stocked, and the views, oh my the views, were incredible. This property is well off the main road in a charming rural community with wild horses and an amazing night sky.

Amazing Southwest Experience
The Placitas community where this home is located really gives you an appreciation for the SW architecture and lifestyle. The home is nicely decorated with SW art and furnishings. The owners really care about this property and keep it very clean and well maintained. We were lucky enough to experience a rain storm that blew through while hanging out on the covered deck - the smell of fresh rain in the desert air is amazing! We saw the wild horses in the community but only saw hoof prints on the property. Highly recommended!

Great Ladies Retreat

Great for a soccer weekend - wish we could've stayed longer!
Our family of 5 stayed in this house for a long weekend to participate in a soccer tournament in Bernalillo. It was so nice to retreat to this rental house before and after games! The house is exactly as pictured and described. We cooked most of our meals and found everything we needed (and then some) in the kitchen. We even had a fire on a colder day. All the bedrooms were good-sized and perfect for parents and kids. Renters even have access to the garage which would be great on rainy days. The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had which made our check-in and stay easy. We went for a walk through the neighborhood and while we didn't see any actual horses, there's lots of evidence so they much be close by! We also checked out Sandia Cave while we were visiting. It was a great house and we wish we could have stayed longer!

This property was described exactly as is in this listing. The house had all modern conveniences, clean, spacious and cozy. Waking up to the mountain views on the back porch with my coffee, was so relaxing. The owners were very informative, friendly and responsive. We will definitely come back and stay longer.

Wonderful stay at beautiful and strategically placed abode outside of Albuquerque
We loved our stay at the Placitas house and are sad to leave. Our hosts have a wonderful place near opportunities for hiking, skiing, fireplace meditations, museums, Meow Wolf, and other modes of entertainment in the SW. The hosts were quick and clear in any message exchange and we highly recommend the house to future vacationers.

Very comfortable, great location
The house was exactly as described, charming, clean, spacious and the view awesome. We used the whole house as we were 6. Everybody felt immediately comfortable. It was a good place to cut off from our routine. The kitchen equipment was ideal for cooking during a whole week (we like to cook). As it was our first time in New-Mexico, we were able to visit several national monuments and hike from this location. We came across twice the path of mustangs on the road, it was awesome (respect the speed limit though). The communication with the owners was always pleasant. Their informations were accurate and came promptly. We still have more to discover around, we would definitely come back!

Spectacular desert retreat!
Beautiful home in an incredibly peaceful, tranquil desert setting. Adobe-style house with all the amenities. Stocked kitchen, lovely patio perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks, super-comfortable beds...gorgeous! Host were immediately responsive to any questions and provided very helpful information; they went above-and-beyond with their hospitality. Would stay there again in a heartbeat...highly recommend!!!
