“It's on a spectacular road of large Victorian houses & the room I stayed in was in keeping: it was large & high ceilinged. It & its shower room were very very clean. The welcome was helpful & friendly. I hope to stay again in the near future.”

“There’s lots great about this place but it’s got its quirks. It’s spacious and would be great for a family or larger group. It’s conveniently located about 10min walk from the train station. There’s a few pubs and a gas station for food nearby. Great if you’re going to a show nearby. It was very loud when we stayed there with traffic and the unit below us. The lock on the front door is picky and we got locked in for a while and had to call the owner. They were very responsive and helpful though.……

“The rooms are lovely & clean. Was in room 47 very large king size room with bath tub bathroom. Slept very well, despite noise at 6:30ish am from noisy neighbours. The are the staff are friendly and fantastic can’t do enough to help you. Downsides they do not serve breakfasts (which I think would be amazing if they did) and the hotel used to have a pool but they no longer has it as was filled in and turned into a gym. Easy access to Barry town and Barry island. Car park is small and on a slope……

“Had a lovely stay at the vale resort on 28 march. Made use of the spa and had a 2 hour walk around the grounds,lake and castle after a lovely breakfast . Well recommended for a break away”

“We didn’t have breakfast but the choices for the evening meals were excellent and reasonably priced. Free on site parking with bus stops for Cardiff city centre a short walk away. Overall a great stay. Staff all very efficient and friendly ”

“Rooms are quite spacious. Staff very helpful. Had an issue with room which was immediately looked into. When it was clear resolution would not be achieved, we were immediately offered a new room. ”

“Great staff, clean and tidy room, good location with easy car parking. Great food including very good options for my coeliac wife. This is a quaint more traditional style of hotel with it seemed like only six rooms. You still get a room key attached to a fob rather than the key cards you tend to get nowadays and the flooring is a little sloped in places all adding to the charm. We had just a one night stop over but would be happy to return.”
