When we first pulled up the hotel was not much to look at but honestly, what a lovely surprise once inside. The restaurant, the terrace overlooking Poole harbour and the rooms were all very spacious (we had 3 rooms)

We did enjoy our stay at Harbour Heights, although parts of the hotel feel a little tired and in need of some updating. Unfortunately, some members of staff could also benefit from further customer service training, as at times we felt more like an inconvenience than valued guests. The terrace and the view are absolutely stunning and were definitely the highlight of our stay. However, it was disappointing that guests were not allowed to have meals on the terrace, and there was no waiter service available for drinks from the bar. This felt like a missed opportunity, especially given how spectacular the setting is.

The breakfast, staff and downstairs communal areas were very good. However, bearing in mind the price for overnight stays we found the room and room facilities were far below average for this class/cost of hotel. The room had a harbour view which was excellent but this said the actual room and facilities felt very 'tired', in need of an update and lacking certain facilities that other hotels in this price range would normally have. No walk-in shower which meant using the shower in the bath which was very difficult for my wife (a blue bade holder) to try to get in and out of. No anti-slip mat in the bath. The bathroom was smaller than expected. It took more than 10 minutes for the hot water to come through to the single (partly stained) sink. There was no 'safe' facility in the room and on two nights of our stay, when the wind outside was particularly strong, it sounded like something was loose on the roof constantly lifting and crashing down with repeated thuds which was quite scary. the furniture also looked quite worn and dated. Unfortunately, especially given the prices being charged and the expectations for this price range of hotel, we would not choose to stay there again.

The receptionist upon arrival was lovely and our room was amazing, staff had even kindly created towel swans and scattered red rose petals on the bed for us as we recently got engaged. We loved the view and enjoyed a cream tea before going out in the evening.
