First, get satellite for your TV. Great place on the front row of beach. Really would advise staying here. Fireworks amazing, and be prepared for ongoing before and after the new year. I’m booking for next year

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 4th trip to Bolivar, and by far this property is the best - location, price, and amenities. Thanks to the family who owns it for providing such a well-equipped, thoughtful vacation home available for rent. Swede's is super easy to book with and rent from - nothing fancy, just good people who treat you kindly. The only negative was the bed in the (we guess master BR) where the mattress was painful to sleep on, so I slept on one of the sofas, which actually gave me a great view of dawn on the beach.

Reviewer Comments: The house we reserved months ago became unavailable two days before our arrival date and Swede’s did a great job of finding a property that matched the original house with our most important requirement of the house being a true “beachfront” location. The only complaint we have about this house is that the mattresses in all three bedrooms were really bad. If not for that, this review would have been 5 star all the way down.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were overall pleased, but there were a few areas that could be improved. The floors were dirty. If you walked around the house barefoot, your feet turned black. The beds are very low quality. No wifi. If you plan to do any cooking, there is not a decent frying pan or pot with a fitting lid. A lot of lights have no working bulbs. Downstairs there are lights, but no convenient way of turning them on or off. Switches should be labeled (there are a lot of them and some we never found out what they switched on/off). Lastly, the fan in the middle bedroom of the house does not work. Other than the above mentioned, the house offers a fantastic view.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Be sure to pack a couple of plastic bags. When you first get there you’re going to pick up a couple of bags of garbage as they are remodeling next-door and why not have the rest of the people throw their garbage in your yard. No Wi-Fi, shower curtain more mold than you want in your blue cheese. The mattresses are unimpressive no boxsprings and a guaranteed backache. Boxes clutter the laundry room while I mention it you’ll have to put your clothes in there because three of the four closets are locked up and the fourth one is full of their towels. Beware don’t let your toes touch under the bathroom counters Because they will stick to whatever it is under there. The pantry is full of everybody’s grubby spices, and the only counterspace you have to put your things is full of used alcohol bottles and tins from cookies you don’t get. But darn, what a great location! Not to mention the smoke smell in the house and the fact that a couple of fans don’t work. Porch furniture is old and grubby and broken Darn it, fantastic location!

Stairway to a Heavenly Vacation

The picture of the deck view to the surf became my screen saver at work, was posted on the fridge... I hung onto that image for dear life! And, it was even better standing on that deck! Being the last house on the street, there was nothing but a couple of bunnies between us and the dunes. Each morning, we took a couple of chairs and staked out our section of beach. During the weekdays, we had plenty of space to call our own. By Friday, folks found our piece of paradise. The kids loved the water slide, Frio Loco snow cones, and learning to crab in the shallows near the ferry. Our favorite restaurant was "Nauti Beaver" with fresh crawfish, Mahi, live music, very casual atmosphere! Swede's Realty manages this property. They were more than friendly, even inviting me to come have a cup of coffee! When we had a couple of little issues in the house (Ceiling fan remotes and a dryer belt), they sent a maintenance man within minutes! I would definitely recommend this spot to friends.

Loved the location.Wished there were at least one more of the tall chairs to see over, and maybe a table. Dryer took forever to dry clothes.Plenty of beds, blankets, pillows. Great view of the beach and just a short walk. Love the showers for feet and anything else downstairs.

Nice house, rental rate is competitive compared too other beachfront properties. Some of the furniture is pretty worn and tattered, needs replaced. Overall a very nice six day vacation on the beach.

Disappointed there was no Wi-Fi and the TV cable would only pick up a few channels. The microwave would only work if you held the door shut. The beds were ok but I’ve definitely had better at other rentals in the area. Down stairs lighting was either broken or non existent. Made for a dangerous walk up and down the stairs in the dark.

This house is in a perfect spot. Right on the beach with great views. The front deck is absolutely awesome. Kitchen is very well appointed. You really don't need to bring anything for the kitchen. On downside, beds are a little small and there was no remote to the dvd player but all in all and enjoyable stay. Strongly recommended. Swede's is always great to deal with

Found a realistic diamond back rattler coiled up on the back porch, went out at night and there it was. Police came to remove it after we discovered it was a fake! Not a good d experience. Air TV is really limited. I actually had to talk to my husband. New mattress would be a plus as well as the beds were not comfortable in any room. cc The lighting on the ground floor was out on the stairs. The house is beautiful and aside from what I mentioned it was perfect place to relax and reconnect.

That could be a problem, depending on neighbor. Also, no wifi which I thought was strange but not a nig deal for me. Otherwise, very clean and close to a clean section of beach.
