The Grand Hotel

8/10 Good

"The hotel has a lot of character no doubt, as there is much history there. The main floor with its grand staircase is very picturesque. We were on the top floor. The floor itself smelled somewhat dusty/older. The room was quaint and comfortable when it came to temperature. The bed was comfortable. The night tables have seen better days. Every wood finished piece in the room had a tackiness feel, and unfortunately most surfaces could have used a dusting. The typical areas in the washroom were clean as expected, but the bronze finished taps/shower head, the black painted trim all needed a good dusting (unfortunately this would be more obvious on dark coloured fixtures, trim colour choices). The 1 staff member at the main floor desk was gracious, helpful and sweet to speak with. There was a night shift manager who could be contacted by phone if needed. Again, typical for such a venue. The building was well located with lots to see if wanted to on foot. We were only there for 1 night, so it worked for us."

"I give this place — and its wonderful host, Wendy — a 10 out of 5! The location was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! The deck overlooking the water was stunning, quiet, and very private, which we absolutely loved. It was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We truly loved every moment we spent there.Wendy was an absolutely fantastic host! You can tell how much care and love she puts into her property, and she goes above and beyond to make sure her guests have everything they could possibly need. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and hospitality made an already wonderful stay that much more special.There is also a great spot to swim right beside where you'll be staying! We would recommend bringing water shoes, as the bottom of the lake is a little rocky, but otherwise it was a wonderful place to enjoy the water.We honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay. HIGHLY recommend! We will absolutely be back! Thank you again Wendy!! 殺"
