Not as we hoped
The location was the best part of the trip. Quiet beaches and a nice pool saved the day. The condo was disappointing. The refrigerator did not work the entire time we were there (5 days). We contacted the property manager and they gave us a bag of ice on day 2 and then got someone to fix it by day 3. Turns out there was so much dirt and dust under the fridge it was blocking the fan so it couldn’t adequately cool. We had hoped by that evening it’d be working (so we can have ice and keep the food we brought from Atlanta from spoiling) but it did not. We sent the property manager another message but they never replied. So we had to buy big bags ice 2 more times to keep our fridge cool. We also had to toss a bunch of food and buy new food at a much higher price from the Piggly Wiggly.
The condo was not properly cleaned either. Shower curtain covered in pink soap scum, dirty dishes left in the dishwasher, windows dirty on the inside, and carpet with stains. We also found broken glass where the kitchen floor meets the cabinets so with small kids and a dog we had to clean the floors and kept our shoes on the entire stay.
The credit for renting beach equipment was great, we got three chairs, and umbrella, and a boogie board. However the condo DOES have beach chairs and boogie boards (not in the listing) which was frustrating to discover as I would have used that credit for other items. Also the complimentary beach wagon is rusted and very difficult to drag.
Lastly the cooking items (pans, pots) were very worn and some even deformed, the drawers with cooking utensils also had sharp knives thrown in there all haphazardly, and the bedroom televisions don’t have any channels. If they do there’s not information provided on how to operate them. The living room television has cable but that’s it.
All in all it feels like if they had adequately deep cleaned, addressed the refrigerator promptly, tossed many of the old/used items, and provided better information regarding the condo’s amenities then we’d be happier guests. Thankfully the beach and pool kept our family happy.
