  • With views over the bay, this property is all on one level and is ideal for exploring the Dorset coast.. All on the Ground Floor:

    Living room: Freeview TV, Patio Doors Leading To Patio

    Kitchen/dining room: Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge, Washing Machine

    Bedroom: Kingsize (5ft) Bed

    Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Patio with garden furniture. Large enclosed garden (shared with owners’). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Situated on the southern edge of Portland with views over Freshwater Bay, this semi-detached, single-storey holiday home lies ½ mile from Portland Bill Lighthouse. It is in a great location to explore Portland with its museums, Henry VIII’s castle, National Sailing Academy and other attractions. Enjoy excellent coastal walking, fishing, swimming, sailing or boating in Weymouth Bay. On your doorstep is the scenic Dorset coast, stretching either side of the Georgian seaside resort of Weymouth, on your west to Abbotsbury, West Bay, Bridport and Lyme Regis and to the east Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Beach 1 mile. Shop 1¼ miles, restaurant and pub 400 yards.

We had a lovely week at Freshwater Bay View Cottage.

We had a lovely week at Freshwater Bay View Cottage. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need and more, including good wi fi and sky TV. It is tastefully decorated and well looked after and exceptionally clean. There is a patio area in the garden with table and chairs where it is nice to sit in the sun. The owner is nice and helpful and he will stop and chat or leave you alone if that is what you prefer. There is a pub at the end of the road with a nice restaurant. The cottage is in an excellent location, nice and quiet, it is walking distance to Portland Bill and a short drive from Weymouth. Freshwater Bay View is an excellent place to holiday.

Freshwater Bay View is an excellent place to holiday. It is a peaceful place to stay with a beautiful garden, although the weather wasn't kind enough to us to allow us to make full use of it as well as the lovely patio area. The property has everything you would need for a self catering break and although some items had to be removed due to Covid 19 safety regulations it didn't affect our stay. It is warm and very comfortable and a great place to return to after walking the coastal path from the door. Great to have a porch to take off our boots and waterproofs when dripping wet!! On four days we walked in different directions from the door to explore the coastal path and the Isle, so it's a good place to stay if you fancy a break from driving. Having said that Freshwater Bay View is within a short driving distance to other great walks on the Dorset coast, as well as other towns and attractions. If you don't want to bring food with you there's a large Tesco's nearby, a Lidl as you enter the Isle and we can recommend the fish and chip shop in Weston. There is a pub very close that serves food although we didn't use it. The owners, who lived next door were on hand if we needed anything but the accommodation felt private. We stayed during the Covid-19 pandemic and we felt very safe staying there. We were reassured before our stay about the extra precautions that the owners had taken with regards cleaning. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Freshwater Bay View to others and plan to visit again in the future. Thank you for the welcome treats. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Just spent an excellent week at the Freshwater Bay View Cottage. The owners Peter and Gillian were very welcoming, left us to enjoy our holiday but we're there for any questions or issues. The cottage itself is on a quiet location on the edge of Southwell, very clean and well equipped. Highly recommended.
