The location has pros and cons - in an area where everything was very accessible - close to Sao Bento station, metro, bus. There is a bar across the street and could be heard until 1:00 a.m. (except when closed on Monday and Tuesday nights). So you’re in a very lively area which may or may not deter you from staying here. The photos may be dated - the couch was quite stained, and generally some wear. The pillows on the bed were old and need replacing - there were several in the closet with no pillow cases. The photos depict cooling units in the living and bed room areas which would lead one to believe there is cooling/air conditioning. The remote also shows “cool”. An enquiry to the property management staff told me air conditioning was not in the listing. So do be aware of this. We stayed 5 nights, there were only a few rolls of toilet paper and when we asked for additional toilet paper and more dish soap to keep the dinnerware clean, they said we would have to buy it and toilet paper ourselves. Another pro, the space is large and the windows are beautiful. The building is quiet - we never heard anyone else staying in the building. Our opinion - there are many other properties to choose from - we would not stay nor recommend this rental.

Great location, but metro construction is a mess

This one is on a hill, so plan for lots of walking up and down. Metro construction is blocking access to everything west, so you'll have to walk around it. The 22 tram is not running right now because of it. On the plus side, this may keep noise down outside. There is easy access to the Bilhão market and the São Bento train station. Esquires Coffee is just up the street and a great breakfast spot. Fridge and washing machine makes longer stays easy. Nevertheless, there were some things missing like extra towels, a bread knife, instructions for the washer/dryer, an iron, a mattress cover, tissue, laundry detergent and Nescafe pods.
