    In quiet Miragaia, this bright two-bedroom on Rua do Mirante 11 invites slow mornings and riverfront strolls. One bedroom opens to a petite balcony perfect for coffee; both offer comfy double beds and soft light. With a practical kitchen (washing machine) and a modern shower room, it’s an easy, well-located base for couples, friends or a small family exploring Porto’s historic heart.



    The Space:

    Step inside to calm tones and wooden floors. Two serene bedrooms feature double beds and smart storage; the front room opens onto a small private balcony fringed by greenery. The tiled kitchen is ready for simple meals with stove, microwave, fridge and a washing machine for longer stays. A clean bathroom with a walk-in shower completes this straightforward, comfortable city retreat.

    All house space and amenities are included in this booking. Feel completely at home.



    The Neighborhood:

    Miragaia is Porto at street level: cobbled lanes, azulejo façades and the Douro just down the hill. Stroll to cafés and bakeries for warm pastries, wander the river promenade toward Ribeira, or hop the historic tram toward Foz on sunny days. Il nous a été impossible d'ouvrir la boîte à clés. Merci à l'ouvrier qui travaillait à l'intérieur de l'immeuble et qui nous a permis d'entrer alors qu'il sortait.

Unfortunately the check-in process was awful! We arrived late (after midnight) and the directions for using the code on the lock box were less than helpful. Long story short, it took 90 minutes and many phone and text messages to get some 'in person' help. Three young adults appeared, only one spoke some English, and none of them could open our lockbox either. One finally produced a master key and thankfully another apartment was available in the same rental unit (though it was up a very dark hallway and three flights of narrow stairs!). Finally we were inside, but not OUR rental. I told them that we had an early (6:30am) full day tour scheduled for the following day and that we would be unable to move until the end of the day AND the lockbox issue with our rental unit was resolved. When we returned from our tour at 8:30pm we were still unable to open the lockbox. The following day was also busy with events (please note, we are on VACATION and did not plan on spending time inside our rental!). Finally, after convincing them that the lockbox would NOT open they sent a maintenance person. There were two sets of keys in the lockbox and one of them had been jamming the slide to open the lockbox. PLEASE, if you use this apartment be careful when returning the keys so the next person doesn't have this problem. Finally, after two nights, we were able to move into our original apartment. Beware, hallways are dark and narrow stairs. It is quiet and close to attractions.

A week before we came to Porto we texted our VRBO to see if we could stay an extra 2 nights rather than move to another location. They said yes, so we cancelled our other booking.There were issues with the place that were immediately evident: there was no working kitchen light and no kitchen window to let in light/propane stove with no directions and no way to light it/2 outlets in one room, one of which gave a warning on my plugged in phone that the outlet had water leakage and I need to unplug immediately/no living room space at all, yet the apartment has sleeping for 4. Because of the dark kitchen we were not able to cook and had to eat out all evening meals. We sent these concerns along with pictures at their request to both VRBO messaging and their WhatsApp. They replied with thanks and promised to take care of the problems right away. That’s the last we heard from anyone. I texted 4 more times to follow up…total silence. We were there for a week.We got an email at 7 pm letting us know about checkout procedure for June 4…they had ignored our approved extension! We emailed immediately with a copy of the text confirming our checkout for June 6. No reply. At 10 pm we had to start looking for new accommodations for the next two nights. Worst VRBO experience ever had.
