Have realistic expectations. This is a two star motel in Hampton. You will not have luxury and renovated rooms.
Pros:
Staff were very nice and room was clean. I enjoyed the pool and part of it is shady if you want to escape the sun. AC worked well and the fan could be turned up high to drown out the background noise on the street.
Cons: If you have a bad back and need a firmer mattress, this is not the place for you. The mattresses were very soft, slopped, and springy. I felt like I was sleeping on an unsupported trampoline. If it wasn’t for the mattresses, I would come back. The TV did not work and the electrical outlet was missing a face plate, which could be a danger for children. However, the staff immediately fixed the issues.
There are no towel bars except for one plastic hook in my room. If you use a towel for your body and your hair and have multiple people along with beach towels, you’re going to have towels hanging all over the room and it’s messy and stressful. There wasn’t even a place to hang a hand towel for the sink. That is an easy fix. I hope the hotel remediates.
Location: very convenient and walking distance to the beach, playground, and great restaurants. However, if you get a room close to the road on a weekend, be prepared for loud noise up until 2am or later. Please note you could end up on a third floor and there is no elevator.
