“Great little pub with rooms in a nice little village. Rooms were comfortable and quiet and clean. The breakfast was made to order and was great tasting and of good quality. ”

“Great hotel with pub and restaurant, in a tudor building from the 1700s. The staff were excellent, super friendly and gave me a lot of information about the area, things to do. Only drawback is that due to the age of the building there was a bit of noise from other rooms”

“Lovely chap who checked us in and worked behind bar. Room small as we knew. Comfy. Nice shower and toiletries robes a slippers. Great biscuits tea a coffee. Breakfast excellent. Waitress amazing worked hard. In good area. Car park near. ”

“It is next to a busy road but I didn’t hear it during the night. It is a very convenient short walk into town or to the castle or station. Breakfast was well served and tasty. Overall a very good experience.”

“Room is ok, breakfast is great, unfortunately after I had breakfast water supply stopped in the hotel. Maintenance work is understandable, but should remind guests beforehand so they can be better prepared.”

“St Marys Gate Inn looked extremely comfortable, clean and welcoming in the photo's online. Believe me when I say, it is much much more when you arrive. Welcomed by Lola on arrival (we were much earlier than expected) we were shown a table for Sunday lunch straight away (Food is excellent both flavours and presentation). The room was exceptional, huge main area, immaculate bathroom, tea and separate coffee facilities in the room, two huge windows. Bed was very comfortable, just a very relaxing……
