I had a lovely visit. Although there are >1000 rooms in the resort, I never felt that things were crowded. Although, I would recommend making reservations at the reservations early. The food was great! I will go back.

Restaurants, great, but avoid The Valley. Grounds/facilities, excellent. Gym, spa, very nice. Couples massage, excellent. Bar locations, drink options, good. Good sized room but very cold - thermostat always reverted back to 22C. Got an extra duvet. Fridge stocked most days. Pools good. Beach lounge chairs okay with options for straw umbrellas if placed your towel by 730am. Adults only? Nope! Kids everywhere! Naming convention used on Expedia, and likely everywhere else, misleading. This resort has three names: 1) Adults Only Club at Lopesan Costa Bavaro - All Inclusive; 2) Unique Club at Lopesan Costa Bavaro - All Inclusive; and 3) Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort Spa & Casino - All Inclusive. When selected filter for “adults only” on Expedia, got this resort. I didn’t pick up on the club part. Adults only means an adult only section of rooms in the south-west section at the front of the hotel. Selected the Tropical room. It faced outside the hotel, south, looking at apartments, a road, some palm trees - not very picturesque or “Tropical”. Road is used for all deliveries, garbage trucks, motorcycles, recycling, noisy from 630AM. Requested to be moved, but couldn’t until after the second night, on which they followed through. Adult only pool was good enough and had security - no kids. Adult only section on the beach not enforced - kids. Adult only buffet same - kids. Hey, we like kids and have 3 young adults, but this whole Adults Only thing is completely misleading at Lopesan.

The property was gorgeous and well maintained. However, bathrooms were frequently dirty, service at the ala carte restaurants and the many bars was awful. Tipping didn't help. All we wanted was for staff to smile once and a while. The check-in process was horrendous, took almost two hours to complete. Beach was gorgeous, room was clean, Party Boat excursion through the resort was affordable and easily the highlight of the stay. Will try a different property next time.

I showed up and they knew me. They treated me and my girlfriend really well and the hospitality was too notch. Definitely recommend this destination to anyone who wants to relax and be treated like family. Big thumps up to Lopesan and the entire staff there.

It’s a large, very nice and clean property. We elected the Adults only package with Unique upgrade. Pools were very nice. Our room was clean. Staff for the most part was very accommodating, even though there was a language barrier. We enjoyed the Unique Beach Club amenity along with the Unique pool areas. Our only complaint was the food. If you’re a foodie, your options are very limited. We found the Unique Beach club BBQ/ buffet to be our best option for food. The meat options (cooked to order) trumped anything we found in the restaurants, even the steakhouse. Restaurant La Boheme was our most frustrating experience during our stay (language barrier and lack of service). We left before ordering food due waiting too long to place an order. For best experiences at the restaurants, don’t deviate from the menu options.

I recently stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino and overall had a very good experience. The property itself is amazing,beautiful, very well maintained, and extremely clean. The bedrooms were impeccable, and you can really see that the resort takes great care of the facilities. Everything around the property looked organized and in great condition. Regarding the service, room service was excellent. The staff delivering the service were friendly and efficient. However, I did notice that some other staff members around the resort were not very welcoming and sometimes didn’t even greet guests, which was a bit disappointing. The only reason I can’t give the resort a full 5 stars is the food. The buffet was decent, but the à la carte restaurants were not particularly impressive. In my opinion, the food there felt very similar to the buffet, just served in a more elegant setting. Overall, it’s a beautiful resort with great rooms and good maintenance, but the dining experience could definitely be improved.

Great food selection throughout the buffets and restaurants. Lots of local options as well. Local vendors are on the beach for excursion possibilities. Bars are conveniently located. Domingo was the best bartender, located at the adult only pool. Room was very clean and the ladies did a great job of keeping it tidy. Casino was pretty slow but if it’s a busy night, enjoyable. Coffee spot was relaxing and I loved the layout of the entire property.

Staff were wonderful! Always smiling and willing to help you find what you were looking for. Only a few language barriers. Amenities were hit or miss. The adults only areas were amazing, it was just a bummer none of the pool areas near the ocean were adults only. The only adults only pool was no where near the ocean or views of the water, but it did have its own bar. It could use more chairs for more people to have a place to keep their stuff while in the water. Stayed for 5 days and never could find a place to sit on the beach. All chairs had towels on them being saved for hours and hours with no one using them, so that was really frustrating for the rate to not get to spend a day on the beach without just popping a towel down on the beach (nothing in the shade was ever free). Spa was wonderful, massage was incredible and it was serene and not overpriced (in my opinion). Food was hit or miss. A lot of variety of cuisine but nothing was put out in the buffet to say what it was (no signs for a majority of the dishes) so it was difficult to know what you were looking at. Felt like it was sold as adults only, but a majority of the place is full of kids. If you truly want a kids free experience you’re severely limited in where that is the case.

Staff were all very helpful, happy, and knowledgeable. Very clean facilities and our swim up pool is something I will miss a lot. The La Pearla bar in the adults only section was amazing and our bartenders (Domingo and Jhoanny) were the absolute best. Beautiful property and beach. All of the À la carte restaurants exceeded my expectations on all levels. Pro tip for others would be to get to the beach between 6-8 am in order to secure a spot. We will surely come back in the future.

Very nice hotel, good food and drinks, great service, hotel is renovated and updated. Entertainment is not great, the shows are not good at all but other than that it was great. Definitely coming back again

The stay would have been excellent if not one rude employee. He was managing the pool cabana beds . Disrespectful and sexist . His name is Jimmy ! Otherwise , the resort is well maintained, food was good and mostly everyone was very nice .

I was really excited about this resort, but boy was I disappointed!! First we couldn't book an ala cart dinner for the first 2 nights we were there. Apparently that's standard? So we ate at the walk in restaurants that were mediocre at best. Then about day 2 I guess the maids didn't appreciate me sleeping in, so they did their best to wake me up every morning by phoning, opening the door and turning the light on or shutting off the air conditioner. Then I got blasted by some woman in Spanish for taking the "wrong towels?" Not acceptable Lopesan! Never again. I wouldn't go back if it were free!!

The rooms were spacious and clean. In fact, the whole resort was very clean and well maintained. Lots of restaurants but reservations are troublesome. The buffet food was... buffet food. It was just okay. Drinks were mixed decently. Some bars were better than others. It was very difficult to get a spot on the beach or by the pool. Most of the staff and customer service were subpar. If they were replaced with some people that just smiled once in a while the experience would have been 6 stars.They definitely gave the vibe that they didn't want to be there or help us. Our room refrigerator was broke and we put in TEN requests. Everyone acted like someone was on the way but nobody ever showed. It was SO frustrating to not be able to have a cold drink in your room. I will definitely return to the Dominican Republic and I would return to this resort in a heartbeat IF the customer service/staff had been more friendly. For now... I will find a new resort next time.

The room and swim up pool were great. The grounds of the resort and beach were lovely. Calling this an "adults only" stay is a complete misnomer. There are children literally everywhere. The "adults only" buffet just means a dining room to sit in, but you only sit there after battling through little kids running all over in the same place to get your food. The "adults only" roped off section of the beach is filled with families not watching their children and when you ask security for assistance, they just get you another chair and place it next to more kids. Children running around screaming through the lobby. The staff was good overall, some more friendly than others. I wish, though, I hadn't paid more for adults only as it was anything but. I won't be back.

We stayed at this hotel expecting an adults-only experience, but we were disappointed. While the property had an adult section, there was no real separation, and children were visible and audible throughout. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, with friendly staff. Lunch was decent, dinners were great, but the spa fell short of expectations—no aromatherapy, and it felt subpar. A major issue was vendors selling fake goods by the pool—especially Cohiba cigars—which felt like a breach of trust. We complained but received no resolution. On top of that, our attempts to arrange …for a birthday went unanswered, and no one followed up. In summary, while the hotel looked great, the experience was marred by broken promises of an adults-only atmosphere and lack of trust in on-site sales. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Overall, we had a good stay at the resort, but unfortunately we experienced a very distressing incident with a security staff member named Luis Miguel Suero. My husband and I placed our bag and towels on an empty chair before entering the adult pool. Out of courtesy, we asked the gentleman sitting next to it if anyone was using it. He clearly said no and confirmed it was fine to use, explaining he was alone. The group next to us (triplet brothers) typically occupied three chairs daily, and the chair we used was not being used. Despite this, Mr. Suero approached us aggressively and began yelling at us in front of other guests, accusing us of taking someone’s chair. It was extremely embarrassing and completely unnecessary. The guest next to us was shocked and also reported his behavior. When Guest Services came to the pool to identify him, he continued yelling — even in front of them. The Guest Services representative himself stated that his behavior was completely out of line and unacceptable. Although the incident was reported to the security department, nothing further was done. We continued seeing him working in the same area for the remaining two days of our stay, still behaving rudely. It was very distressing. It is disappointing that someone with such hostility and lack of professionalism is allowed to work in a resort environment meant for relaxation.
