"We absolutely loved our stay! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. Our room was beautiful, spotless, and had an incredible view. We also had the pleasure of attending the wine and Port tasting, which was such a wonderful experience. The presenter was engaging, passionate, and truly captivating, making the tasting both fun and fascinating. The rooftop terrace and pool were absolutely amazing and felt incredibly luxurious. The breathtaking views made it even more special! We also took some time to enjoy the hotel’s wonderful spa, which offers a wide range of services. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind during our stay. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, and offered a great variety of choices. We also took a lovely walk around the property, and the grounds were simply beautiful and peaceful. Every part of our stay was memorable. We highly recommend this hotel and would happily come back again. An absolutely wonderful experience!"

"We just stayed one night before a planned weekend on our way for a wedding at a nearby vineyard. This hotel was everything we expected. Welcoming service, comfortable room and nice breakfast. For our evening meal, the restaurant around the corner was recommended by front desk. A unique family run restaurant. Not sure it goes by the old name, but very easy to get to. Great place to stay."

"You simply pay for the views at this hotel. There are no frills outside of that (which was fine for my stay) the rooms had AC which was great. The staff was nice but it seems they were understaffed and simple requests took longer than other hotels I stayed at in Portugal. The buffet breakfast was convenient as there aren’t many food choices in the area to go to. I would go back simply because of the views and the relaxing property!"

"Our two-night stay at The Vine House at Quinta de São Luiz was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. With only 11 beautifully designed rooms, it feels peaceful, intimate, and incredibly special. The rooms were spotless, modern, comfortable, and even smelled amazing. The bed and linens made for a wonderful night’s sleep, and waking up to breathtaking views of the Douro Valley was unforgettable. The infinity pool is spectacular and surprisingly private, allowing us to fully relax while taking in the incredible scenery. Even with vineyard tours taking place nearby, the pool area remained quiet and secluded. Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional, with delicious food and thoughtful attention to every detail. Our stay also included a tour and wine tasting at Kopke Port Wines, which was fantastic and added even more to the experience. If you’re looking for a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy some of the most beautiful views in Portugal, The Vine House is truly magical. It’s the kind of place where evenings on your private terrace, overlooking the Douro Valley under a blanket of stars, become memories you’ll cherish forever. We would return in a heartbeat."

"Quinta da Marka is just WOW!!! The mansion itself is well furnished, quiet, the grounds are well maintained and amazing. The view of the Douro is breathtaking. The pool area is also simply amazing overlooking the Douro. The food and the service we’ve had there we just out of this world. The staff is so amazing and are so helpful and friendly. We had planned on visiting a few wineries during our stay there but were so comfortable that we didn’t move. They also produce their own wine so we just chillax and enjoyed the wine, food, pool, view, and service The ac in rooms was working really well Very highly recommended."

"Clean and comfortable! Very nice home in a great location. Parking is a concern, but the owner was very nice and allowed us to use their parking space. Be aware that the street is VERY narrow and the house is on a sharp curve, so again driving/parking is a bit of an issue but manageable. Overall, a very comfortable stay and we enjoyed being able to cook breakfast and do a load of laundry!"
