Old Time Camp Retreat

Staying at White Pine Camp was a taste of yesteryear. Quiet, away from it all. I loved the lack of TV, Internet, WiFi (which are all available only in the communal building). It was refreshing to have a few days off from the outside world.

Historic and Cozy

The cabin was older but that added to the charm. It was a very cold weekend but we were never uncomfortable. The only negative is that our cabin shared a (thin) wall with the neighbors and part of their party was in a room above our bedroom. We could hear everything, including their snoring.

A perfect retreat

We stayed here (in President's Cabin) for 6 days and 5 nights in January and it was as close to perfect as it gets. The centerpiece of the cabin is a big beautiful fireplace. We were amply supplied with firewood and kindling, and even without the fire, and even with temperatures as low as -29, the cabin was warm and cozy. The kitchen was well-supplied, the view off the back porch magnificent, and the proximity to Saranac Lake, Lake Placid and cross-country skiing opportunities was icing on the cake. The staff was readily available and kind if we needed anything (and there wasn't much we needed!) And being an American history nerd, staying where Calvin Coolidge hung out for a summer was a real treat!

Fabulous Stay

My husband and I desperately needed some down time and to unplug. We were delighted every day by the gorgeous view from our cabin. The cabin was cosy and well appointed. We loved using the canoes and kayaks to view nature - deer, beaver, loon, merganser and a moose calf. Already looking to book for next year.

Remote/Historical/Fantastic

If you want to get away from it all this is the place. The views are beautiful; the cabin was a wonderful step back in time. We will be back.

I liked our stay

This is a property probably best to rent 3 days or more. So many lakes, streams nearby to enjoy. On property nice ping pong and pool table. Bowling alley was unique.nice boat houses, trails and again, many areas of interest fairly close by
