“Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel ”

“Staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean ,tidy and lovely and warm. Had a lovely view of the castle and shops were handy. Was easy to find and so handy for the A66 to the lakes. Will definitely visit again. ”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. The room was basic, but clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable. We ate dinner there as well and it was delicious. The breakfast was good. My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. ”
