"The woman at reception was lovely, very nice. The room itself was very clean, the bathroom was spotless. The decor almost made us throw up however. I know they are themed rooms, but classy would have been much nicer than cheap and cheesy. We got the "Hilde" room, based on a movie with Heike Makatsch. The carpets were shag and hot pink (and old and worn) and the headboard was a bunch of fake plastic hot pink flowers"

"Fabulous staff, comfortable beds, clean and quiet. Tram stop is right outside the hotel for a quick 10 minute ride to old town where all the Christmas markets are. Wonderful breakfast buffet and convenient luggage storage if needed. Would definitely stay here again! "

"A bit outside the city, but with such a huge park around. Excellent for picnics and simple walk.
The breakfast was included, I did not know, good surprise!!"

"I had an excellent stay at Hôtel Esplanade the first week of December for the Christmas Markets. The hotel was very conveniently located near a tram stop so that it was fast and easy to get down to the city center. More than that, it was a warm and quiet refuge to recover for the evening and at the end of the night. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There were two bars, two coffee shops, and a convenience store all within short walking distance. Would highly recommend!"

"We were there in Winter so we kept the room cool by opening the window.
Breakfast had a lot of options: pancakes, scrambled eggs, meat choices, lox, yogurt.
The hotel is located in an ideal place by the tram and quick walk to the Christmas Markets. "
"Great location very convenient to walk from train station and old town. The stay was very pleasant, would definitely stay there again. Stuff is friendly, room was bid enough."
"It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but also reasonably convenient for visiting Strasbourg. I stayed here while trying to visit the Strasbourg Christmas market. All the hotels in Strasbourg were 2-3x the price! The hotel is conveniently a 5 minute walk from a tram station that takes you right into the city as well as right to the Train Station. It does take some time ~30minutes into town and ~40mins to the train station. But as long as you don't need to go back to your hotel during the day it's not a problem. The hotel room was small but adequate given the price and overall clean. Water pressure for the shower was good. (2nd floor room)
Another great thing is there are two groceries stores across the street that you can get breakfast, or drinks from. Especially great if you're travelling on a budget.
Definitely one of the better B&B hotel locations. "
Crumbling ruins serve as a reminder of the imposing pentagonal fortress that once stood here, its moat-side mounds now a hotspot for sunbathers and picnickers.
