Awesome Place!

Wish we could have stayed longer! Had fun with our dogs. Great place to launch from or just hang out. Fishing was good too! Hope to stay again.

Great Trip

This was a wonderful experience! I wish we had more time, because there is so much to explore and see! WONDERFUL Italian restaurant nearby, Portabellas! A must visit! Captain Ron was so helpful and knowledgeable! I didn't want to leave!

An enjoyable stay

Bed was extremely comfortable and location was very quiet and peacefull. Staying on a houseboat was a unique experience for us and we had a good time. Host was very friendly and accommodating.

Experience like no other

We were looking for something unique to do for our first wedding anniversary, when we came across the house boat. Captain Ron met us at the boat to show us around and explain how things worked. We took him up on his suggestions for places to visit and places to eat, I loved how dog friendly the Lily Pad was. Ellie, our French bulldog even had her own little menu. The donut shop is a must try too, definitely worth it. We got to experience a storm on the river and it was absolutely beautiful. The river itself with the sunsets from the top deck, I took so many pictures and will be printing them out for our wall. The bed was super comfortable, I honestly got some much needed rest after spending the days exploring or just enjoying the river boat. Parking was very easy, we have nothing bad to say. Thank you Captain Ron for everything, we will definitely be back. I've been reading your book when I get a chance and am more than half way through already.

Best spot we could have chosen. On the river but not a lot of traffic. The fishing was great. The kid and our dogs had an absolute blast. Captain Ron was great! We cant wait to go back

local charm on the James River

this charming, rustic and eclectic houseboat on the James provides a perfect venue to experience the tidewaters history of the Richmond area nestled on an inlet. The marina is clean and very safe when enters through a private gate pass some private homes yet it is very accessible to local amenities, 1 mile away and to Richmond. Staying on the river amongst the sea birds and the title flow enhanced my experience of this historic location. Don’t miss the local Civil War Fort near

Exactly what I needed

Captain Ron is my favorite host so far! He met me at the dock on the cold dark pouring rain, to make sure I got aboard and was comfortable. And the next day, kept me posted on the tide situation. He was helpful in every way possible. The boat is comfortable and welcoming. It is quiet and the water is calm. It is close enough to go do things, but secluded enough to feel like you’re a million miles away from every day life. I definitely will stay again, and I’ve already recommended it to friends.

A great place to get away from it all

Very comfy and sweet boat on the water. It had all the basics and was as described. The sunrise and sunsets were amazing along with all the wildlife.

Wonderful Escape on the Water

The Gia Maria was everything I was looking for and more. Perfectly serene houseboat on the water. Great views, great space for anyone looking for a taste of the nautical life. I stayed there by myself but it would be perfectly acceptable for a couple and kids. I will most certainly be back. Thank you, Captain Ron, for sharing this idyllic space with us.
