The Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel Chicago Loop
8/10 Good
"Overall the hotel was clean and conveniently located. My only complaint was that they didn't have their breakfast restaurant open on Sunday, even though I had paid for breakfast through Expedia. They charge a resort fee, but there isn't much in the way of resort amenities."

Palmer House a Hilton Hotel

"The location was good for the Art Institute, Millenium Park, and shopping at Macy's, The subway access was excellent except that they were doing maintenance when I arrived. The hotel was frequented by business customers but we were there for pleasure. Room cleaning goes on until 5 pm, which is fine for business people gone all day and half the night. Not so for us, who wanted to take afternoon nap after walking in a hot humid city. If I had been told that, I would have requested early cleaning. We were gone from the room 5 or 6 hours at a clip and would still come back to a dirty room and no clean towels. My partner had to chase a maid down the hall and beg for clean towels, utilizing her Spanish skills. The speakeasy bar makes very strong drinks."

Eurostars Magnificent Mile

"Overall good experience. The room felt smaller than the photos but that wasn't a big deal. We got the junior suite and it was perfect for me ny wife and the kiddo. The staff came upon arrival and set up the couch bed for our daughter, which was great. The restaurant in the lobby was accommodating and tasty. I like how the property blends in and doesn't appear to be a hotel from street level. Little noisey if you have really small children but that is expected for the location in the heart of the big city. Easily walking distance to many fun attractions like the Harry Potter store. Uber is only one minute away when requested at this location which is a plus. Not too crowded as far as guests go, but noise suppression could be something to improve on. We did room service one night which came promptly and correct. It has character and the design isn't the normal chain style decor which we also appreciated. The shower was gigantic and we enjoyed that as well. It's labeled a four star hotel and that's what we got. It felt safe as well. The hotel is non smoking, even vapes so keep that in mind. Great time would recommend over a lot of others in this price range. The junior suite was unique as we basically had our own rooms without feeling isolated. The main bedroom has a curtain you can open to keep an eye on the kids. I wish the balcony/ patio was open but they're sealed. Thanks to the staff for being accommodating abd friendly at all times."
