We loved the atmosphere of the historic home and getting to know our hosts who were tremendous when we asked them for providing recommendations on places we might visit in the area. This was one of the best places that we stayed at during our vacation.

When you find yourself in Roseburg, have an interest in local history and tired of the corporate cookie-cutter hotel options, choose the John Rast House. You will experience a warm welcome, delicious breakfast and spotless, comfortable accommodations all within a past period atmosphere.

If you were looking for a different place to stay, love history, and old homes. This is the place for you. The hosts are wonderful, with a delicious breakfast. The downside is it is an old house, with very steep stairs. And it is on a very busy main road. But we didn’t hear any traffic noises, as there is air-conditioning and we were able to keep the windows closed. We slept very well. It was a fun place to stay on our overnight stop from crater Lake national Park.

Cheri and Mike are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our stay. The private tour with the history of the house was a huge plus. Cheri and Mike are proud of the historical significance of the house. The renovations Cheri and Mike did, preserved the heritage. The location is wonderful, walking distance from "downtown" Roseburg. We want to come back. Our room was perfect! Clean and had an in room sink. I loved the sound machines in each room, it helped me sleep better. I wish we could have had another day their. The location is close to I5, but not too close. No freeway noise. Easy on and off. Sadly the property is for sale, I hope the new inn keepers will cherish the history and location.
