What's nearby

  • This giant 13th-century sandstone abbey stands along the picturesque River Wye. After the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536 the lead roof was sold off and the Abbey lay neglected for 200 years. The Abbey was "rediscovered" in the 18th century and became a haven for artists and poets.

10/10 Excellent

Beautiful cosy cottage with many period features and stunning Wye Valley view.

Beautiful cosy cottage with many period features and stunning Wye Valley view. The drive up is scary - a hairpin bend that can only be done in first gear and reversing up the hill to get into the parking spot. Much wheel spin happened while we got used to it! 4X4 recommended.NB - there is a TV but no satellite box so get used to watching in real time again or light the fire and watch the flames.Bring your own extra loo roll, sharp knife and tin opener and be prepared for fridge tetris. So quiet and peaceful during the day, the house sings to itself at night.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Lovely views the hosts were very welcoming. The wild life was great its not everyday that you can be sitting outside, with deer wondering through your back garden . The local pubs were good value and staff very accommodating lThe cottage itself was very clean and had all you would require for a short stay.
