“Extremely welcoming host, and we even worked out staying an additional night because we were having such a great time. “Alpine Lake Manor was a great fall retreat! The house sits on the lake, so we got a great view of the geese, ducks, & a beautiful great blue heron, along wirh the autumn color-changing leaves! The house had some great antique finds such as a hand made/sewn notebook, a wonderful vase ala Frank Lloyd Wright, and a window shutter wall hanging of the Raven by Edgar Alan Poe. The listing states it has one bathroom and photos show two. In reality, there are three full bathrooms! All on rhe first……

“We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return. ”

“Host was quick to respond to any questions. The interior of the house was really nice-modern, nicely furnished, and clean upon arrival. It was well stocked with everything we needed and more. The owners have thought about almost everything. I would recommend putting a rug or boot tray by the door to help contain the mess of snowy boots in the winter. We were not informed that the community pool is closed due to renovation ahead of our arrival. It wasn’t a huge deal but that would have been nice……
