The Space:

Nestled in the heart of Rimu, Rimu View 2 by Tiny Away is a boutique tiny house village offering a peaceful escape surrounded by nature and history. Located just five minutes from Hokitika in the beautiful Westland District, this unique retreat combines modern comfort with the charm of a historic settlement, making it the perfect base for exploring New Zealand's rugged West Coast.



Just a four-minute walk away, guests can discover a magical glowworm dell set among historic gold-mining workings, along with a charming historic pub and restaurant that offer a taste of local hospitality and the area's rich heritage.

Perfectly positioned on the West Coast Wilderness Trail, Rimu View by Tiny Away is also within easy driving distance of some of the West Coast's most iconic attractions and activities, including the West Coast Treetop Walk, Hokitika Gorge, and the stunning Lake Kaniere.



On-site at Rimu View, guests can enjoy a range of complimentary amenities designed for relaxation and connection. Take advantage of the free BBQ facilities, gather around the fire pits with complimentary firewood, or enjoy a little friendly competition with outdoor games such as darts and rope ring toss.



For local eats, we highly recommend Katsu Sushi and Noodle House, offering a wide range of delicious Asian fusion dishes. As a special bonus, all guests staying at Rimu View receive 10% off meals and coffee on orders over $20, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a tasty meal while exploring the region.



IMPORTANT NOTE: Please advise that we have 5 more tiny houses called "Rimu View 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6". If you want to book in groups, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.



As an added note, Rimu View 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 have separate parking spaces that are conveniently marked with signage for easy navigation.



Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the tiny home and its surrounding areas, except for the land host's private residence. If you are interested, we also have pre-orders listed below by prior arrangement with the host 24 hrs before arrival.



- Breakfast is available for an extra cost of $20 per person; prior request 24 hrs

- Gold panning experience is available during Spring and Summer only for $50 per person including tea and coffee

- Chef-cooked dinners are delivered at the cabin at $35 per person for 2 courses and must be arranged with the land host at least 24 hrs prior check-in date

- We also have a taxi van that will bring up to 8 guests to anywhere on the coast including your land host's property, please make a prior reservation 48 hrs before arrival.



The Neighborhood:

Rimu View 2 by Tiny Away sits in the small town of Ruatapu in the Westland District, New Zealand's South Island. Where you enjoy nearby attractions such as multiple glow worm dells, historic gold mining workings, and lookouts with information boards.



Woodstock Domain overlooks the Hokitika River and the Southern Alps and offers scenic short walks. Hokitika Gorge features bright turquoise waters and lush rainforest tracks. In town, New World is a full-service supermarket with fresh foods and groceries, while Stumpers Bar & Cafe is known for hearty meals like pork ribs, belly pork, and lamb shanks.



The Hokitika Glow Worm Dell, just off the highway, offers a brief walk to see glow worms glowing like fairy lights at night. Nearby, Shantytown Heritage Park recreates a 1900s gold rush town to showcase New Zealand’s pioneer history.



If you want to explore more, Hokitika Beach, Lake Kaniere, and Lake Mahinapua with glassy reflective views are just a short drive away.



Getting Around:

By car:



- 3 hrs stunning drive from Christchurch to Hokitika.

- 30 km from Hokitika to Greymouth following the ocean.

- 1 hr drive to Punikaiki passing through the famous pancake rocks, which are all 2wd accessible.



By public transport:



- We have a taxi van that will bring up to 8 guests to anywhere on the coast including your land host's property. Please contact your host 48 hrs before arrival to make arrangements.

- WiFi is available

- Firewood is free of charge

- Mobile reception is excellent

- Unlimited free drinking water

- Gas BBQ grill is available

- No smoking allowed on the property

- Pets should be kept on a leash at all times

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge



Important note:



- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.

Guests will enjoy your own private space but we are always happy to chat with you.
