The Auction House, located in the heart of Ryde just a few minutes walk to the beach, is part of a stylish conversion of Ryde's Victorian sale rooms. It has been equipped and furnished in a careful blend of contemporary and traditional boutique-hotel style to provide a relaxing and comfortable base for your holiday. The whole house is flooded with light throughout the day.

Downstairs the sitting room is furnished with Laura Ashley sofas and French windows open out onto the courtyard - perfect for bringing the outside in or sitting out with a glass of wine or morning coffee. The stylish kitchen/dining area incorporates a peninsular bar so the cook doesn't miss out on any action! There is also a downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs there is a beautiful mahogany, hand-carved four-poster bed in the main bedroom with stunning sunburst canopy. The twin bedroom is fresh and sunny. Both bedrooms have crisp bedlinen and plump pillows. There is a contemporary bathroom ( large bath with shower over).

Outside there are two patio areas (one private area to the side of the house) furnished with mature hydrangeas, palms and shrubs. Seating for 4 is provided. Car parking for one is available in the courtyard adjacent to the house. Additional long-stay paid car parking is available adjacent to the courtyard.



We have a bronze award from Visit Isle of Wight for our eco-friendly provision. A car is not necessary for visitors ( catamaran and hovercraft services arrive at Ryde Pier with good train connections from Portsmouth) with the excellent bus service across the Island from Ryde. We welcome walkers and have secure storage for bikes.



15% RED FUNNEL DISCOUNTS - for all year round bookings. Ferries run from Southampton-East Cowes (15 minutes drive to Ryde). Please ask on booking if you would like a code.

Ryde is an elegant seaside town in East Wight with many Victorian and Georgian buildings, including a restored pier, and easy access to the rest of the Island. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants including Robert Thompson's super stylish newly opened Cafe Bar and Grill There are 6 miles of wonderful, sandy beaches together with a marina and children's play parks. The seafront is a gentle 5 minute stroll away.

N.B. Vrbo have listed our property as 7 minutes drive from the beach. This is inaccurate. Our location is as noted on the map and the nearest beach is just a 5 minute walk away.

Beautiful property in a peaceful courtyard. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. It’s very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Good WiFi and easy walk to nearby shops . We found it to be an excellent holiday base for exploring the island.

A lovely little house....

Clean, attractive and modern property situated in a small and quiet mews. Comes with a free dedicated car parking space. It is quite out of the way, you would never know it was there!. Has everything you need, including a dishwasher and washing machine. The beds are comfortable and the shower is fast running. The WiFi also works well and the TV took our Firestick. There are a few breakables around (glass vases etc for decoration), so beware if you have small children, although there is no reason you cannot just put these away out of sight for your stay, which we did. This is our third time staying at the property and that speaks for itself. We would recommend this house if you wish to stay in Ryde.

Last Minute Booking

Contacted Christine the owner of the Auction House on Sunday 2nd June and had an immediate response saying the property was available that day for the week. On arrival ( just 4 hrs later) the house was spotless, beautifully furnished and kitchen well equipped. Bed super comfy. Lovely bed linen. Thank you Christine we had a lovely time. Deb and Martin.

Nice mews home

We had a pleasant stay even though the weather was bad. The house is comfortable and has everything you might need for a short holiday. The host is very pleasant and is quick to respond. The parking is a huge bonus. Would recommend if you want to stay close to Ferry port.

Auction House

This property is a cut above the rest. Everything is top quality and its all available when you arrive. Its spacious and well equipped for a great stay. Property manager extremely helpful and the bedrooms and bedding is top grade. The weather was against us but it is a delight to stay in and the parking space is a real bonus. Highly recommended

this property was outstanding, all the correspondence before and details about check in, recommendations were very clear and helpful etc. Property exceptionally clean and tidy, ideally situated to explore the island and short walk to shops and places for essential items. Turning into parking area and parking is a little tight if you have a very large car and the other spaces for properties nearby are in use, but not impossible.

A great family holiday home

We really enjoyed our stay in Ryde and in Auction House. Christine the owner was very friendly and gave us great restaurant tips. The house was lovely, in a great location and was very clean, with comfy beds. There is also a BBQ that we enjoyed on our first night. Unfortunately the washing machine was out of order but Christine arranged for her house keeper to pick up our washing and had it washed and dried in the same day for us, a really lovely touch! My only suggestions would to have a few board games and have Netflix/Prime etc on the TV. We highly recommend staying at Auction House.

Great location to explore the island

The house was nice and clean, we didn't spend much time there as was out island exploring. Everything we wanted to do was easily accessible from this location. Ryde shops and beach were a short walk away. It was perfect for what we needed. Excellent communication by Christine, when required. Thank you for a nice stay in the IOW.

Great stay in Ryde

We had a lovely family holiday (2 adults, 2 children aged 5 &6) with the Auction House as our base. The house itself is modern, comfy and cosy with lots of nice extra touches (excellently equipped kitchen, for example lots of spices & herbs). Bottle of wine, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, and biscuits much appreciated. The four-poster bed was very comfortable, and the kids loved their twin room. The house has private parking in a very quiet mews, yet the main shopping streets of Ryde are 2-3 minutes away. The beach is about 10-15 mins walk and Appley beach & playgrounds also walkable (25-30 mins). The hosts were very helpful, although we didn’t need to contact them about any additional queries as everything was already well-organised by them. Would definitely recommend for either families or couples.

Wonderful property and fantastic location

The Auction House was a fantastic base from which to explore on our family holiday. Everything we needed and more was available at the property and the little touches of finding milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine on arrival was much appreciated after our journey. The property was clean with beautiful furnishings and extremely comfortable. The towels were fluffy, bed linen soft and both my children commented on their comfy beds and slept brilliantly. The area was so peaceful at night despite being so close to the shops and being within walking distance of the main sea front was a huge bonus. We loved finding the toy shop! An email from Christine during the week with more recommendations on where to eat/visit was a lovely personal touch. We would have no hesitation recommending the property to others as it has really helped make our holiday special staying in this beautiful house.

Fantastic stay at the Auction House

Just had a fantastic one week stay at the Auction House, Ryde with my family of four. The property is very well situated within easy walking distance of everything you need, shops, great restaurants, a beautiful sandy beach. We met the owners Terry & Christine on the first day because we arrived early to see where the property was before heading off again. They are lovely people, and it's true what they say, if you need anything such as recommendations etc, they are always on the end of the phone. The property itself is really well done, very clean, comfortable beds, everything else you need such as dishwasher, utensils, nice towels. There is a lovely little courtyard area and the neighbours are really nice. We would recommend this property and the owners 100%. We will definitely stay again. I literally don't have anything negative to say. And if you go to the Island, I recommend Blackgang Chine for young children, it's magical in a very strange way. Restaurants, The Coast in Cowes is fantastic so we went there twice, the best dressed Crab in Bembridge (the best seafood platter you will ever have), and the Three Buoys in Ryde, also fantastic amongst many others.

Highly recommended

We can definitely recommend the Auction House. It is a lovingly furnished cozy cottage. It has a good, central location. A variety of shops can be reached within a few minutes. We felt extremely comfortable and spent a relaxing week in Ryde. Thank you for your warm welcome with cookies and tea!
