Owned by one family since 1866, this property boasts a private pond, two kayaks, and included beach gear like chairs and boogie boards! Take in amazing views from both the indoors and outdoors - find ample places to relax and entertain. An open-concept living floor offers a welcoming Great Room with a gas fireplace and flatscreen TV, as well as a pristine kitchen with a full suite of stainless steel appliances. Six bedrooms and five bathrooms provide comfort and coziness for every member of the group! Added perks of this family-friendly home include central AC, high-speed WiFi, five TVs, cable, board games, puzzles, and books. Find a wide array of incredible experiences just outside your door, including whale watching, deep-sea fishing, hiking the Appalachian Trail, and riverboat cruises from Portsmouth.

Great stay with a couple winter hiccups

I want to emphasize that I would stay here again. But also - if we had not been a group of New Englanders, we would have run into a lot of trouble. My group of 6 friends stayed several days in January. A major winter storm was in the forecast. No problem - two people driving in brought snow shovels for their own cars, we bought some extra supplies in case the power went out. What we were not prepared for were some failures in winter precautions: -there was no salt at the house, even though the steps were covered in ice by the time we even checked in. -no snow shovels at the house. We would have been absolutely stuck if not for people bringing their own. -there was only 1 garage parking spot due to stuff being stored in the second spot, which meant more digging out of snow. -there were numerous chairs unsecured out the back of the house, at least 2 of which were blown off the back porch (we brought them in for the duration of the storm). I think that maybe the house isn't really rented out in winter? It didn't seem super prepared. All that said, inside the house, it was an absolute delight. It was so nice that everyone could have their own space, but we had joyous meals together and sat around the fireplace and had the best time. The showers were good, water pressure excellent, beds comfortable, bedding good quality. I hope that the management company takes some winter precautions at the house, so it'll be safer for others coming in the future.

Escape from reality

We all very much needed to escape reality. We had just lost our father, husband, and grandfather. Something about going to the beach to heal and it helped a lot. We needed space for us all to be together to plan, cook, and share memories. The house was well staged, clean and perfectly stocked. The only thing was upon entry we were given the wrong code. But that was corrected within seconds of calling. And there was trash in the garage left from a previous tenant that really smelled. But we kept the door shut and it all worked out.

Off-Season Delight

Our 5th April spending a week at this family beach house. Off-season brings so many new sounds and sights. A bald eagle frequently visited overhead. One 70 degree day had my kids frolicking in the ocean. A nor'Easter came through another day rattling the house and bringing the biggest waves I've ever seen at Jenness for over 40 years! We celebrated Easter this year at the house and had fun watching the kids hunt for eggs in the rocks. The beds are sooo comfortable, the house is immaculate, the kitchen is well stocked. Thanks again for opening your home to others!

This property is well appointed and extremely comfortable. The location is one of the best on the NH seacoast. At low tide, the beach is perfect for small children. This is our second year renting, and if the house is still available, we hope to return every year. As my family headed home last week, they told me it was "the best vacation ever". Thank you Olivers for sharing your beautiful vacation home with us. We hope we will be able to make many more treasured memories here.

This was the break we all needed.

This was by far my favorite vacation with my family of 12. We are ages 2 to 82 and everyone enjoyed every minute of the stay. The house had everything you could ask for and more. The beach was so close and so beautiful, everyone enjoyed walking it each morning. We played board games and had a fire on the cold nights and a fire outside with smores. We loved watching the sun rise each morning and the surfers out in the ocean. Amazing is all I can say, and we all miss it already. I miss the sound of the Ocean as I fell asleep and sitting, coffee in hand, on the porch each morning. Thank you again!

Great Views!

This is our 3rd year staying at the Oliver Jenness Beach house and we can't keep away. Pure relaxing, best location, everything you would need. Sitting on the porch for morning coffee, walking the beach, or finding a nook to read your book, this place has it all. Can't wait to return!
